Ball_Race_VanillaLake
Updated 1/17 ![]() http://s000.tinyupload.com/download....15867133506300 Filesize: 0.424 MB Added some grey texture to the snow so it wasnt so bright, moved a few objects around, cut the top left corner a little to give incentive for the inside route ------------------------------ ![]() My second race map. I enjoyed making Shy Guy Beach so much, I decided to try again. Once again, I based the design off of a Mario Kart map, adding objects and twists/turns to make it challenging for Altitude. It is intended to have no weapons, 3 laps. I reworked every outline in paint and drew the collision lines luons by hand (took many hours). It is not ready for Alti+ servers yet, but all that it's lacking are checkpoints. Due to how I created the map, /para true is required. (No visible objects on game layer) Last edited by Oyster; 01-18-2016 at 03:24 AM. |

I haven't played this yet, but I really like the look of a couple of things:
1. Obstacles - esp. those that appear to be making the shortest path a risky one. Hard to tell how many of those there are without actually playing it. But, that's something I think would make race maps a LOT more interesting allow people in 2nd place a reasonable chance to catch up - but a risk the leader may not be willing to take. 2. Power-ups.. Again, making it possible to crawl out of 2nd place. Also a Mario Kart feature ![]() Anyway, looks good - can't wait to try it out! ... And making me want to make a race map now! |

Okay had a run through it... What I perceived to be somewhat risky shortcuts are usually suicidal - at least for me. The map is a lot smaller than I thought. The power-ups include walls which could make for some interesting 'camping' - if 1 team member does the 'running' and others grab power-ups and block the enemy. It also means in some cases whoever is in front is able to grab the power-up... If it's a wall, it could add substantially to their lead as there are some very easy choke points.
All that said, I really like the obstacles and tightness of the course. For me, it meant applying the breaks a fair amount which I prefer to a full out dash. |

I don't know what came across you when you made this corner... It's a deathtrap.
