Patch: september 18th, misc ui/bot improvements, bug fixes
Mostly an odds-and-ends patch, fixes a few bugs and removes some common sources of frustration.
================================================== =============== September 18th, 2009 planes that are in the process of respawning can no longer grab powerups spectate camera mode setting (free-look or chase-cam) is now saved between sessions tab now shows dead players' selected plane configuration (including random, etc) instead of their last-spawned-plane's configuration players with rcon access can now chat as [Server] by preceding their message with an >, for example: ">hello" becomes "[Server] hello" bots are now "culled" to avoid imbalanced teams, for example: game is 5v3, 2 bots join to even the teams 5v3+2, 1 player switches making teams 4v4+2, bots will now die to restore balance (4v4) bots: improved plane ball AI to include passing added "plane ball" tutorial map chat messages (both sent and received) now appear both in the in-game-chat-window (if you are connected to a server) and in a friends-menu-chat-box (always) added chat log (~Altitude/config/chat_log.txt) improved server list clarity, sort order is now persisted fixed a memory leak fixed a few bugs |

Great, I like that we can see "???" in random player's config boxes, though I kind of miss tabbing to see what plane I just died with.
A thing about chat: If my flatmate logs out and I log myself in on his computer, I can see the previous chat in the chat box, including PMs sent to him. Not that you should be letting people you don't trust use your computer anyway, but it's weird. |

Just a comment about another function that might be confusing to some players, but if someone on your friend's list is playing the tutorial or a skirmish against bots the button next to their name on the friend's list will still allow you to 'join their game'. However, since they are playing locally on their own computer, the game just hangs on trying to connect to '127.0.0.1' (the IP for local host). Some people might get confused as to why they can't join their friends games and why the status bar sits there indefinitely.
Maybe disabling this function for players not playing games hosted for multiplayer or maybe giving a message stating why the game can't be joined. |

I am extremely pleased with the bot-balancing fix that has been put in - this certainly fixes the problem of bots making teams have extra players.
I think, that it might also be a good option to make a function that if the teams get ridiculously outbalanced (say 6-human vs. 2-human and 4 bots) that there should automatically kick in a team balance feature i noticed sometimes the "sheep" effect happens when one player changes teams, and everyone follows, leaving the match as 8v3, etc but fantastic update! 10/10!!! |

You can always call a vote to balance the teams if they get too ridiculous.

dunno if this is know or it has been a bug before patch, so i'm gonna post it here.
we played a nice game on some server and some guy was annoying so we kicked him .. but he came back in like 10 secs .. so we banned him for 20 mins but he ,again, came back ... he told me that it was some bug when u change your name few times u can get back even if u are kicked or banned. i tried it on official server and it worked there also. p.s. ACE is best! |

Yep also experienced this.. eventually just muted the retard but god damn is it annoying. Would be nice with incremental time on kicks or something.
