Altitude music
Hey, I'm a grad student in music and make a living from it. I'm curious who wrote the music altitude for the opening screen. Anyone?

I guess there's not much left for me to say. Hi Patch! I'm Vi and I wrote the altitude music.
Relevant post on my website: http://vihart.com/blog/tags/altitude.html Which contains earlier ideas as well. Though my favourite version is still http://vihart.com/altitude/Altifour.mp3 |

cool. I'm thinking about applying for their popular music course next year.
Would love to go east coast for college, but being a drummer requires having a car haha. |

Hey Vi: great job, its really creative. I'll check out the other version too. You obviously studied? What other stuff do you do? Ever write for guitar?
Red: It is a such a great place for music. For guitar, hands down, one of the best in the world. I've heard good things about the new pop degree. Just started this year I think. Last edited by patch; 09-29-2009 at 03:25 AM. Reason: wanted to fill out what I had to say. |

Vi: I'm also curious what sound design you used.

Hi Patch, I'm glad you like it. It was actually all produced using Sibelius, directly from regular music notation. That way when altitude makes millions and hires the Altitude Orchestra, it will be easy to print out the sheet music ;]

Great, I didn't know Sibelius had that type of expression, though I do still need to upgrade to 6.

Rye: No way! That's cool. I'm just finishing up my DMA in music performance. Are you masters? PhD?

A.R.A.B., come to Berklee!! Seriously, there is no better place for popular music. I'm studying Blues and Rock guitar performance there. So many sweet classes and awesome teachers. I highly reccomend it.

It's a little buggy though-- it only seems to want to follow dynamics if they were created for that instrument, so no copy+pasting from other staves or dragging them in. That tripped me up a lot in the beginning. Sibelius has its quirks. |

I'm getting my DPT, doctor of physical therapy. Three year program that I just started a month ago. If you ever break a leg in three years, come find me. I'll offer 50% off to Altitude players!

I figure USC has a great music program too and I can get solid education / contacts there. Plus LA has the best session opportunities and that's how I'm looking to gain a foothold in the business. I don't know though...still considering everything..... |
