Release Avenue
So I was thinking about how the game would release once its finally ready down the line. It seems that the biggest challenge for indie games is getting exposure. So in case you hadn't thought about it, putting the game on steam might be a good way to do it. I've seen a number of smaller games on there that get a lot of eyeballs just by being around the major releases. Plus you get the random bonuses that come with the steam community (such as seeing if your friends are playing without having to start the game).
Now I don't know how big their cut is or the general business arrangements at all, but it might be a path to explore. |

I think, as far as distributing it to the largest number of people possible, Steam seems like it is by far the best option while remaining on the PC. The only better distribution method I can think of would be going for X-Box Live Arcade, which I believe Dio suggested at one point. Only problem with this is I'm convinced the game handles far better on the PC and would prefer it stay there, but its certainly doable on an X-Box controller.
But yeah, I don't know anything about how much profit either of those routes would turn up, but I have to believe it wouldn't be terrible. |
