playing on same PC as dedicated server is based on
Is it possible to join a game of Altitude on the same computer that a dedicated server is set up on?
I'm getting the following error when I try to connect to my game that I'm hosting... INFO [2009-10-09 22:02:09,705] [Thread-7]: Handling join request from 192.168.0.199:27272 -> tK@f3d2fd21<vaporId=b5078929-c9a0-48f9-9ef6-b6bf11838a6d, nickName=Recty, loggedIn=true, ip=66.58.232.88:27272, sessionId=66f8944e-0d5a-4289-8fcf-a01c42599d96> INFO [2009-10-09 22:02:09,706] [Thread-7]: join request IP mismatch; packetIp=192.168.0.199:27272 vs vaporIp=66.58.232.88:27272 |

yes it's possible as long as the server and game are not using the same port.
That text in your log file is not an error, it's simply information as the prefix INFO indicates. So someone named "Recty" joined your server using a local ip (192.168.0.199) instead of their global ip (66.58.232.88) which makes perfect sense and is what you would want to see if your on the same network. This way you will get around 0 ping. |

My problem is the last line in that...
INFO [2009-10-09 22:02:09,706] [Thread-7]: join request IP mismatch; packetIp=192.168.0.199:27272 vs vaporIp=66.58.232.88:27272 I'm trying to connect to my game and it never will, it just says connecting and it sits there and waits. I checked the server to see what was up and thats when I saw that it was saying it had a IP mismatch. Just to clarify, not only am I on the same network, I'm on the same PC as the server is being hosted on. |

Rec: Open up the port you are using to play altitude on.
I had same problem as you but when i opened up the port in options as well as server ports other people could join. |
