Problem with the map editor

Hello,

i have a problem with the editor, when i launch it, i can't click on any windows or buttons (nothing in terminal) I have a ubuntu 8.10

see the screenshot attached.

can you help me?

Quite strange -- I think I had it working under 8.04, I will check into it once I get 8.10 set up on my test machine.
