Super Awesome Idea for demo!!

Change the plane demo users have access to everyday!

Example:
Monday: loopy
Tuesday: bomber
Wednesday: biplane
Thrusday: explodet
Friday: miranda
Saturday: loopy
Sunday: ...
...

This way they get to try all the planes, thats cool.
And at the same time its annoying for them: no more just mastering demo loopy! Its so evil!

Demo players get a full two weeks where they can play with any plane they want, with any perk they like. Then, after two weeks the demo allows only loopy and bomber with no perks.

Let them taste it, then take it away from them! BUAHAHAHAHAHA

if demos had the full game every weekend then they wouldnt have to buy the game. a lot of people only play on weekends anyway

I lawled at the title. I think the title alone says a lot.

The two weeks idea could work IF MAC addresses/IP's/etc could guarantee being able to prevent reinstalls. The problem is that most people have dynamic IP's and MAC address changers do exist.

I have a better idea for Demos.

Allow them to play all planes (and maybe perks too) in Training/Skirmish mode, but not online. This way, they'll practice and get good at other planes, but then Skirmish just isn't fun and they'll be dying to use their planes online. That might just give them the extra push they need to buy the game.

Also, I might be getting Altitude on X-mas

I think Nimby should put out a nice set of mini-CDs that cost $20 and somehow include a paid account. It'd be a pretty sweet stocking stuffer.

Nice idea. I bet there's some way to optimize the impact of this idea so that you have the minimum possible playtime with each plane for the maximum effect. Maybe limit them to individual missions/scenarios and not allow them in skirmish?

btw a bit of trivia that I think doesn't affect demo conversion, but is interesting - you can play as all planes when using the map test feature in the editor even if you're a demo player.

that would sound reasonable. demo players just need more restrictions.

I second this idea. Easy way to give a gift to someone, and it serves a double purpose in that you drag more people into the online games.

I think this should be available all year round though, maybe an ordering option off the website!!!

Though I think it would be EXTREMELY funny to watch demos play with reverse thrusters. I know that I would have crashed infinite times (before I got a bit better and dont crash anymore). But to make sure they feel the pain, you'd have to take off the rubber hull. But THEN, it would be HIlarious to watch!
