Default An Altitude Epiphany

So eight of us were kicking around in the Capt's Server earlier today, and I had a thought about the nature of teamwork in this game. This is probably old news to most of you, but maybe it will be of some use to someone.

It occurred to me that obviously, the best way to win a team game is to stay together, no news here. However, thinking along this line and remembering past games I had played, I realized that a team that sticks together has the ability to fragment their opponents. What I mean by that is, if Team A is playing tight and together, they can force Team B's players apart and pick them off one by one. Then I realized that because of the longer spawn waits in TBD mode, Team B is now spawning a few seconds apart from each other. This can lead to Team B moving out on their own as individuals, getting picked off again, and becoming even more fragmented. I realized that it would be very easy, especially under the pressure of a league game, for Team B to become completely separated from one another, allowing Team A to walk all over them and win the game.

Doing even more thinking (my brain moves fast when it catches on to something), I realized that all Team B would have to do to get back together would be to go against instinct and play defensive for a while. That way, everyone could spawn and be in the same place for a bit. Team B could get some kills, stop some runs, boost their morale, reform, and go hunting after Team A, trying to employ the same separation tactics that had been used on them.

Anyway, just for a bit of a read, if anyone is interested.

good thought, its basic but last night, all i was doing was going low, and picking off players from lower, (going 1on1) or just shooting up and damaging players and going back to defend when needed...

i won every capt's game last night so, and it was 4v4, so that strategy can't be directly applied

The biggest problem what team had the better defense, both bomb runners were amazing... at one point, i hit with a straight bomb run on core lol

Yah, it's easy for any of those tactics to break down if the other team has Mike or BG1 or GGQ, however, bomb-runners who are THAT good are rare, and even they need the support of an organized team, or they will fall prey to attack. I've won games against teams that had one of those three on them, simply because my team was able to break their team apart.

Really? All he did was make my self-burn more explicit.
