Team chat is off on FFA USA

There is something wrong me and my freinds were trying to team chat and somehow there is no team chat? I am confused. But we went to the Proleague servers and there was team chat. Can you fix it? I know that Proleague isnt really official it is made by players, but the one that is official wont work? please fix this, and it wasn't just me, it was several other friends.

Team chat on FFA servers in thought-activated. No need to type, just think of the message and it will be transmitted to all others on your team.

Why would you need team chat in FFA?
