Default [Question] Game Purchase.

There are 4 buttons that I see on the site and each are different ways to pay, correct?

Paypal
Steam
Direct2Drive
GamersGate

I've been having problem with Steam lately so my question is:

If I purchase this game using Paypal (from site), Direct2Drive, or GamersGate will I need Steam to run the game?

--Short:--
--Will Steam be needed to run this game no matter how you purchase it?--

Thanks,
Stryker

No, Steam is only needed if you purchase the game from Steam. All other versions are identical except that they don't require or integrate in any way with the Steam service.

If I purchase the game from Steam, can I also play it on my mac without Steam?

I have a similar question... I purchased the game on Steam, but I've love to play it on Linux natively...

Yes. Once you launch Altitude from Steam it will prompt you to link the full-version key you purchased from Steam to your Altitude account. Once that is complete you can download the appropriate native version from http://altitudegame.com/download.html and log in to your full-version Altitude account on any computer.
