Default Suggestion to change perks to primary and secondary

Sorry for two threads so soon.

Anyways I noticed all the planes have a perk for primary and a perk for second except for bomber.

I would reallyyy like it to be where you chose between a primary and second. Bombs changed to replace grenades instead of tailgun.

I know it'd change balance a bit, but it'd add much more variance..

IE:
Loopy Primary: Tracking or Double. Secondary: EMP or Acid.
Bomber Primary: Grenades or bombs. Secondary: Flak or Tracking.
Biplane Primary: Normal or Heavy. Secondary: Recoiled or recoiless.
Explodet Primary: Push or Twist. Secondary: Multi or remote.
Miranda: Laser or Bouncey Secondary: Reverse or Time warp.

It's basically just UI changes Then some rebalancing..

I'd love bombs with flak and acid with double so much. ;x

Being able to take 2 blue Perks or 2 green perks instead of one of your weapons would also be cool. . .

Once again UI and rebalancing so people taking both Capacitors or Armor+Repair aren't too weak or too strong

acid + doublefire would make u have more dps than anything imaginable,
thermo + remote = other team rage quit

on the other hand,
laser + anchor = awesome
bombs + assgun = super awesome

75mm Heavy Cannon + Recoilless secondary = Insane

75mm Heavy Cannon + Dogfighter secondary = reason HC was whaled upon by the nerf bat in the first place

I know it seems like a good idea on paper, but there are soooooooo many balance issues that would come up with something like this....

Just off the top of my head... giving Biplanes the option of having the Heavy Cannon with the Recoilless or Dogfighter secondary would mean that both secondaries would have to be nerfed heavily to avoid massive OPness, which means that the standard Recoilless and Dogfighter perks would be rendered pretty much useless, and the Biplane world would revert to the HC+Flexi domination that it experienced before HC was nerfed.

Basically, this level of customization in a game like this would lead to players gravitating towards the most powerful weapon combos and would severely diminish the diversity of play styles available to each plane.

In other words, boring game of same-old OP perks.

I thought the fast firing gun on the HC was the same as dogfighter.
It recoils and all. How are they different?

And I think it'd, for the most part, make all plains equally overpowered. So they'd all be balanced in their OP'ness.

The dogfighter Machine gun does more damage (and I think has a longer range, correct me if I'm wrong). Also, your second point may be true, but that's what we've been working away from. Would you really only want 5 viable choices? That sounds so much better then the 13 (Cynical) to 15 you have now. [/sarcasm]

Also with acid+double you'd only have energy for like.. 1 acid bomb and 2 volleys, maybe 3.

I think the balance would be much better than you think and just need a few tweaks.

Right now, the game allows for a strong primary to be compensated by a weak secondary, and vice/versa. If you allow pick & choose, you lose that.

Yeah, but it can still be balanced with choosing both.

Take HC, you'd chose between recoiled and recoiless. But is the normal long range gun that worse? It's damage is lower, burst is lower, but is far less energy. When you use HC i don't think you'd use the other gun much. Two HC shots drain all your energy.

If dogfighter is indeed more damage, I don't see how it'll make much difference as you just get 1 HC shot and 0.4sec of the other gun before you're out of energy. It MIGHT be a 0.1sec faster kill at best.

It'd need some balance changes, but it wouldn't be game breaking and I think it'd be more fun to pick both is all.

The game works fine the way it is, some things work a bit better, some a bit worse, but it's pretty much balanced, no need to mess things up.

hc+recoilless would be the overwhelmingly best choice if you could choose between hc or normal long range gun and recoil or recoilless.

that said, even if you rebalance everything (which is stupid in of itself), more choices is only better when each of the choices are noticeably distinct. allowing you to chose primary and secondary perk would muddle your choices into one big pile of indistinctness.

Really? I like the recoil gun on HC with reverse for minor course corrections.

The main reason is because recoilless deals more damage.

(As mentioned previously, doggy MG deals more damage than the HC MG. But the recoil makes it slightly worse when chasing important people.)
