The lineup would change.
Mayhen, Darkwar, Core, Cave, Maze

However until stated otherwise it is still a Bo3:
Yes, that would be fine.

We will.
Ball has evolved a lot since that first tourney, and believe me, we've become pretty good, to say the least.
As mike said, Sammich vs ACE should be the best match of the whole tourney.

Seriously York? And you want to run tournaments! Use a time converter, there is no shame in asking for help, the only heroes in this world are dead and buried but Google is a powerful tool and your friend.

Unless of course you enjoy very late nights or early mornings, we vary greatly in our preferences.

I can't see anyone other than ACE winning this one, I have seen the sammies <3 play a fair bit so final will be || vs Ace.

CCN, just double-checking:

Quote:
Format: Random seed, Bo3, finals Bo5. First to 6 goals, 10 minute timer.
This means that each game has a time limit of 10 minutes? So for a Bo3 round, it could take 0-10 minutes for each of the three games, right?

Note that some of the maps have changed in this last patch. Also, new maps were added. Might want to update your map list to reflect that.

I agree. And that's coming from someone who's clan has probably played the most on the new (rev_) maps and might have an advantage. I think the tournament should be played on the old maps, if possible.

The rev_ maps are better, no doubt, but if no one is used to them, the level of play won't be as high and it may not be a good thing for the tournament.

The latest patch updated the maps, it can't be helped. Unless there's really a strong request for it, and you guys get the original mayhem/core and send them to me.

There will be a good amount of time between this patch and the tourney, so it should be plenty of time for teams to get familiar, wouldn't worry about competitiveness.

The exp. will bring the heat.

Plenty of time? It's friday and the games are on sunday. You know most of the teams who entered don't specifically cater to ball. We play ball on the side. Well whatever, Sammich and ACE delivering the pwn

map pool change, Rev Mayhem 2 is subbing for Mayhem 2 as mayhem 2 has disappeared into the ether

http://www.mediafire.com/?mmjzzg2mwzk
All the maps, renamed slightly so they don't interfere with other maps (rev mayhem and non-rev come to mind).

There are 5 servers set up for the ball tourney (hopefully)
PL 1
PL 2
captains
Truepains Ball Tourney 1/4
Turepains ball tourney 1/5

3 of these servers are going to be used for the tourney, the last 2 - true pains are going to be used for scrims/practises/pick up games during the tourney and before + after.

The 3rd place and finals match may be moved to truepains server if it holds up alright (e.g. no lag issues) during the tourney. If it holds up alright the finals will be hosted on a server with LOTS of observer spots.
So people don't have to scramble so much and still miss out on spots. So, if you want to observer the finals/bronze place match, its in your best interest to scrim on those servers lots

Thank you all and good luck!

I might be wrong here, but are we going to be using the old versions of these maps? I don't understand the reasoning behind using the older versions considering they play a lot worse and the changes to the new versions are only to spawn locations and not to the layout. Can someone explain this to me?

I should have been more specific about my reasoning. Mayhem is actually the only map I feel strongly should be kept as the old version for the tournament, because of the change to the top tunnel area. Defending attacks has changed quite a bit even though most competitive teams rarely went "top." If we end up using the new version, so be it (it IS a better map, I agree).

Core_rev and Mayhem2_rev only have improved spawn locations, so yes, let's use those.

While I agree that the rev maps are better, I don't feel 5 days is enough for any team to deal with the changes. Even spawn changes, which affect distance to ball can upset strategies. I'd rather just advoid this problem for now and switch to the new maps as of any future tourneys.

To be frank I think this situation is one which would leave people unhappy whether I used the old or new maps.

I hate to bring stuff up like this, but in your first post there is very little info about the actually rules. Then I found a post when I was looking through tonight about some 10 minute round timer? Is that something we are doing or no? We gotta make sure that tec and I have the same server settings prior to playing today.

WTF? 10 minute timers? That's kinda Imagine if you had 10 minute timers in TBD games. I don't see any reason for this as ball matches don't last long.
