Default Crash on Splash Screen

Hey,

I've had the game working on a previous computer to let you all know, but I go to download the game again on this (my newer computer), and it goes to the splash screen and tells me to install new drivers for video card. Do that, no worries. Now I start the game, and get a crash on the splash screen. I read on the web and people said to reinstall Altitude -- which I do -- to the same result, I still get a crash on my splash screen.

My computer is more than what is needed to handle this game, so can anyone help me out?

Thanks.

It's a Radeon 9550, the drivers are the latest ones off the ATI site.

I Believe I had the same issue as you.
I forgot - what OS are you using too?

I'm using an ASUS Radeon 1gB EAH-4850 HD and still had problems.
That's a previous thread as such.

However, what I did was:
1) Uninstalled both the game and drivers.
2) Download fresh copies of the drivers and Altitude.
3) Reinstall the drivers (I assume they come eith an ATI suite as well?)
4) Reinstall Altitude.

It would appear that when I attempted to play Altitude (I'd installed it before the drivers) they had a conflict with something and Alty got killed off.
Let me know how you go.

I am on Vista. I will have a go with what you've explained to me and will let you know. Can you give me a step-by-step guide on how to go though removing the drivers?

Thanks.

It does sound like a driver issue, but it may help if you zip up all the files in your log directory (C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\altitude\log) and email them to support@nimblygames.com

You should be able to uninstall your drivers under Add/Remove Programs.
