Wellp, maimer has left me no choice but to quit this beloved game. After 5 years, one prick with too much power can completely shut down my experience. I have met a lot of great people here and played a lot of great games, had a lot of great times and some good laughs. This really sucks and I will honestly miss a lot of you.

I will miss my team dearly. Kuja, much respect. You are the most successful player evar imo. Think you have had something like two million winning teams. Havent seen you around much lately which sucks a lot, love talking with ya kuja pie. Man or woMAN, I love ya and will miss you more than the game itself. I'm not crying, i got something in my eye. Okok I am crying a little just a LITTLE

Eth, you little viking bastard. I know you spite me now but I will miss you too. You put loopy on the map, much respect and love.

Bingo you goofy little bastard, lol. Love ya man, almost as much as I love those sweedes. And yes, 7 and 3/4" for the record.

Lagstar our time was short but I will miss you partner, love.

Arab you blink 182 listening emo punk, I will miss ya bud. AALALALAL I hope you weren't offended with that map, it was all in fun. Love ya

BG1 I never really got to know you, I always thought you had a problem with me from day one. You are an epic bomb runner, much respect. Hate me or love me I still <3 u

Slapa ur the shiat, you know it. Love ya bud, will miss ur fapping ways

Redshift I never got a chance to talk to you really, but much respect. Your graphics are beautiful. I assume you are on board with maims but <3 anyway

Gaym omfg u play soo much, what a beast. You were the first name I started to fear when I started playing again. Much love, and will miss you

Bling you cocky little bitch, I didnt get to know you very well either. Love ya tho and will miss ya, MOAR ACID

Last and certainly least Evil, you are one goofy bastard. That thread you made with the multiple personalities was soooo lol. Loved ya in vent too. Will miss ya partner, <3

I will also miss all of my little bear brothers from the SS clan. That was a sad day when you guys left us. Extra love goes out to Tex, i will miss ya bud. Regretfully, I must mention that goofy foreign Tyr fellow. Loved all the rivalry with your team, hope you did not take anything personally. And your voice is so damn cute!!!! For everyone I missed I have not forgotten you, I just can't make this ten pages long. You know who you are, love ya guys/girl(s?) and I will truly miss you all. I had a lot of fun while I was here, and couldn't have done it without each and every one of you.

/kekeke =(

I am Confused? Have you been hit by the ban list?

Its sad to see players go. I didn't know you well, don't think you liked me but I respect you speaking your mind (and being restrained still) when you were passioned. As well as holding true to your convictions.

Good luck in future games.

List of casualties due to current drama:
Luke (kind of)
Class
Stack
KLF (its not a person but it was important to many of us=()

Me and class casualties?
I just can't play on the servers owned by maimer, who unfortunately lost control of his admin powers.
I'm not quitting the game, unless lamster and karl decide to ban my account for some reason I can't imagine. And by the way, I'm really looking forward to see what's their opinion about all this mess.

It's just too funny to see abusers claim Maimer "lost control" when you got banned. FYI, both me and nobodyhome completely agreed with the bans, so if you really need to blame someone else for your own mistakes, you can include us as well!

Fixed that for you. Your attitude is one that any Starcraft fan can relate to; it was the prevalent attitude towards abusers in the Starcraft community for many years. That is, an attitude of "yeah, they abused but they are good players and we don't want to lose them from the community, so let's just ignore the abusing". It's a bad idea and abuse should never be tolerated.

I don't plan to get into a flame war so 2 quick point and i'm out, regardless.

You use an example set by the greatest RTS of all time as a bad decision, and in the same breadth try and analogize hacking with xp farming.
You also changed my list name to include Stack and Class as abusers. Nice.

This community has a ways to go.

Edit: Re-reading I wasn't clear, the list change point in more detail:
Painting people defending a point of view with people who have done certain actions all with the same brush is wrong. They are very different groups. "I may not believe in what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

Starcraft is the greatest RTS of all time. That doesn't mean the community did everything right at every point. Coddling abusers and hackers was a great detriment to Starcraft
Stack did abuse. Class may not have, but he's defending his teammate against people trying to fight abuse. You're making a pedantic point, and the idea of my original point holds.

WTF is going on? I just got finished posting in class's thread about how unnecessary it was. Maybe I was wrong?

First off, what exactly happened to Stack?

Secondly, why is Maimer banning so many people?

It seems as though this situation is spiraling rapidly out of control. I thought Class's thread was a bit unreasonable and was bound to bring trouble, but I guess someone else has beat him to it. Do we really care SO MUCH about people abusing exploits? I mean it's not like Luke or anyone else was hacking the game. They just wanted a weird-ass picture of a scuba diver next to their names so they went off and exploited stuff that was already in the game. While I don't understand why anyone would do that, I find it hard to believe that such an exploit requires this kind of action. I can see banning Luke for reasons other than his "quicky badge scheme", but Stack? I mean, I want to gain ace ranks legitimately, but I also don't give a **** what anyone else does to gain them. Why does anyone really care that much? Maimer didn't even seem interested when the system first came out. He even told Vesuvius how to cheat. I thought he and I were on the same page. "Yah, some people will exploit, but whatever." Apparently, I was wrong.

Life isn't black and white. Altitude community is not the starcraft community and not all abuse is detrimental to a community. What has had a more negative impact to the community? Lukes abuse or the drama that resulted from it? People like you let abuse that affects one person affect a whole community.
I hope you understand that the actions of the admins has made the situation worse.

Oh are we calling Maimer to the stand now? What is this a Congressional hearing?

Stack is trying to make this into "Boohoo Maimer kicked me out of the game" and some of you are falling for it. Like Monxy, a third party, saying Maimer should undo the ban because "all this drama is hurting the community" and Hurri saying "Does this really matter all that much?"

Who's hurting the community Monxy? Maimer for banning people from HIS server or Stack for posting a whiny forum thread and Luke for withdrawing from Proleague and disbanding KLF out of spite?

Does this really matter a lot Hurri? Well, who is playing brinksmanship games here? "If you don't let me on all private servers despite my actions I'm taking my toys and going home."

Maimer's ban is between him and Stack. But since Stack has decided he's never going to admit that what he did was NOT FAIR PLAY, he's appealing to the community for some kind of referendum on Maimer's actions. And he's hoping that by stirring enough drama he'll force Maimer to undo his ban.

Bye for now Stack, I'm sure you'll be back when the devs roll back your stats and you promise not to cheat anymore. See you then.

I really don't want to be a part of this but I thought I should say something.
I agree with Monxy in Class's thread.
Its a flipping picture, who cares!?!? Its not like it give 50K extra CP or bonus points or some new plane, its a picture half a centimeter big and there is no help in have 5 extra slots in the plane section so it gives whoever "abused" the system nothing but a picture.

My post was on the general attitude on abuse that some members have. Had nothing to do with Maimer ( although he is one of those said members). I was not calling for anybody to be unbanned and of course the admins contributed to the drama. (as did the abusers like stack) All i am saying that this is a big deal because certain people made a big deal (once again people on both sides).

The amount of eye-burning, face-scarring vitriolic spite to people you've known and played with for months, maybe even years, over something this inconsequential would shock me anywhere else, but not here.

I always used DoTA as my benchmark of the worst community in the world, until I found Altitude.

Really?! Altitude is the best online community I've ever seen. If you think we're bad, you should see some larger games like RuneScape or WoW. The stupid whiny kids in those games are treated as if are contributing to the community. Here, there isn't much tolerance for the lammybois, omnicrons, woods, etc.

Unfortunately, the drama surrounding the Ace system is changing my opinion on the community.

I speak with experience of a lot of communities when I say the illogical and unprovoked hatred the people of this community unleash upon their fellow player surpasses any other game I've played. Even DoTA, even CS 1.6, even the Valve forums.

I am sorry to hear this Stack. I haven't been around and i wish i knew what was going on, and to see if I could have prevented this. Hopefully one day you will be back. I hope you are happy with your decision. I know these kinds of decisions are hard to make. I wish you luck in the future for whatever you decide to do or what you're currently doing.

i could not agree more. This is like one of those ***** ketchup stains that u get on your white t-shirts. you can try as hard as u can to scrub it out, but u can only fade it more and more, you will always still see that little difference in shade left. And over here, there is no bleach.

Oh wait, it's not actually about those icons is it, and it's not really hatred either, is it!

e: in case anyone takes this offensive and don't get my particular flavor of humor, just trying to say I don't think anyone really hates stack or vesu or fu or luke for abusing. I really dislike Luke for his pathetic attempts at blaming the system and saying he's totally innocent, and I'm unbelivably disappointed in Stack, especially after he tried to shift blame onto everyone else, but hate? Nah man.. this is the internet. I think they should be punished tho, so that's why I'm for the bans.
