Wow what a reaction haha
Nicely spotted Loli, that's a still image rendered from a project I've been working on recently in After Effects. Only the second or third time I've used the program, so still trying to get my head around it! It also explains why the text isn't really centered, I just tried to zero in on a frame where nothing was really moving. Goose, I love your enthusiasm but I can't share any details since I'm not actually working on whatever may or may not be coming. It's probably unreasonable to assume it's going to happen in the next week (or probably before sometime next year), but it's never too early to get a little excited! The ladder developers are coding in their free time so I wouldn't ask them for a deadline. Just be confident that something big's coming eventually. |

Thanks Loli, that's quite a compliment after seeing the quality of the stuff you've done in the past. <3
AE CS4 doesn't come with any templates. I can't really take full credit though since I got the background and font royaltee-free from assorted websites. I only did the composition, particles, texturing of the 2D text, and color correction. |

Am I doing it right? Edit so I'm contributing and not purely trolling: I like the APL3 banner Stack made a while ago. Can we get an APL4 one that looks similar? Last edited by Evan20000; 11-02-2010 at 02:17 AM. |

:3 Please keep in mind that everything I'm going to say is not bashing you in anyway, as always it's a critique meant to point out things. xD Paint is so difficult to utilize to maximum potential. Anywho, things I can pick out right now... I see this black box in the background, and from the looks of the pistol, it seems like that's the stock image with it's background hidden in the back. The buildings in the back are pretty good on the eyes. It's a simplistic red and white. The outbursting lines seem to be the "flow" of the image, nothing wrong with it, it could've been better placed, say... into the background of behind the buildings. I see text also. But because of your flowing lines, it's on top of the text, which makes it difficult for viewers to completely read what your message says. Text is something you want to put on the very top (Speaking in terms of background, midground, and foreground.) The use of space was well utilized, however, I can spot a giant blank spot on the right hand side. Aside from your lines, there is just white space. That is what I have to say. But for things that you could improve on from this picture... Keep things you want viewers to see in the front, and the more elegant/complex options in the back. I would go on about mixing the foreground and background, but I don't even think I could effectively use my own advice using MS Paint. o_o;; Quote:

So now that I've put this together, how would I place the text/gun/buildings infront of those lines. Btw, I'm using gimp |

I'm almost certain you did not make that and I'm not even a graphical designer.
My reasons are as follows: - You have claimed to shop something before when you didn't. - The file name is "abstract wallpaper". I don't think abstract is in your vocabulary yet... - It really has nothing to do with altitude. |

I felt the same way and went and reverse searched the pic. Turns out it was uploaded by starfantazy on some European website.

I also did some research on the submitted figure knowing that Blue tends to lean toward things that have displays of mad amounts of skill or tutorial rendering. I'm highly disappointed to have the presence of a thief in this thread.
Although, this thread is just for digital works in general, doesn't exactly have to fit the Altitude theme, since in essence we don't have our own thread. |

Yes, but my evidence was that it was highly out of place in an otherwise altitude heavy thread.
