Default Server: vote bans, admin veto

Would be nice if admins could cancel the current vote, and be able to ban specific users from initiating votes.

Also, some sort of delay before another vote can be started would be nice (as a server option too).

I second this brilliant suggestion; it gets a bit nutty when there's 25 or so people hanging around and five of them are having some sort of insane mapchange / ban lunacy.

It would be nice if voting could be enabled on a game mode basis too, so I can disable voting during FFA rounds.

Ever see that Call of Duty 4 video where it's like 50 guys on Shipment?

Same thing.

If you don't like lots of players, don't play on a big server if you don't like it. But don't try to argue against good features for the sake of what brought them up.

I'm not arguing about against features at all; a two minute delay for the person who initiates a vote before they can initiate another one is quite reasonable. I prefer the smaller, less packed servers myself and it only takes two or three people to make it a problem.

Not a biggie, though.

There already is a delay for subsequent voting. I think it's set at 2 minutes currently before you can initiate another vote.

I don't play on big servers. And I'm not arguing against "good features". I was merely insulting anyone who plays on a 25 man server.

How needlessly aggressive of you.

Playing on the 25+ person servers is pretty fun at times, but I can see why it doesn't appeal to some.

I agree with blank, having a server over 14 for me is crazy. i played in the 35 man server today and its chaos. but people can play as they may but blanks right, if there's a large amount of people the greater the chance someones going to be discontent with the map or a player. thus bringing on the constant bitching and map votes. i think it wold be a better idea to make council a "pirk" as in only after a certain level or have lams or karl pick certain people who can use vote. more of a 2nd level admin

Who can vote should be up to the server admins, not the general community.

These big games are mind numbing. Until theres a bigger community, that forces people to play on more than 1-2 servers, server sizes need to be limited. Currently once a big game gets going it never ends, people are forced to join the server that has people on it.

Though once some maps are created for more than 12 people it might be ok.

i agree completely it doesn't help that no one wants to start a new server.

p.s. is anyone willing to make a server that is for more experienced players? people over the level 25 or so? i feel like that would be a lot of fun and make teams less unbalanced.

indeed, however, there is a less chance of players runing into walls left and right.
