Sigur Rós is a highly underappreciated band that does a lot of inspirational stuff. I've used their work in some short films in the past, definitely worth checking out.

If anyone's remotely interested here's the video I was referring to:

Modest Mouse is my favorite band

Top 5 bands? That's hard, even top 50 is hard. I like so much different stuff. I'll go by modern alt rock/indie which is what I listen to the most. My favorite bands/artists are:

Modest Mouse
Neutral Milk Hotel
Beck
Radiohead
Incubus
Pavement
Animal Collective
Of Montreal
REM
Smashing Pumpkins
The National
Arcade Fire
The Shins
Built to Spill
Cake
The Decemberists
The Strokes
Ween
Beirut
Sigur Ros (yeah I love them as well, I've seen them live too, it was unbelievable)

I could keep going... music is my life.

  • Queen
  • Kings of Leon
  • Beck
  • Pearl Jam
  • The Strokes
  • Cake
  • Coldplay
  • Lupe Fiasco
  • The White Stripes
  • Weezer
  • Spoon
  • Oasis
  • Sublime
  • Ben Folds
  • Michael Franti
  • Novillero
  • Coconut Records
  • U2
  • OLD Kanye West
  • Jay-Z - The Blueprint 1
  • The Hidden Cameras
  • Vampire Weekend
  • Cage The Elephant
  • Carolina Liar
I will keep adding as I remember them. How could I forget U2!!! Thank you Pie. I got more! More Bands!
EDIT: DMCM broke the rules so I will too.

I prefer Chiddy Bang's remix of "Kids" (although I haven't heard the original, so I can't be sure the remix is better).

1. George Harrison
2. Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble
3. Cream
4. The Allman Brothers Band
5. Led Zeppelin

There are a lot more than this, but if I had to choose 5, those would be it, in that order. By "others" I mean The Derek Trucks Band, Crosby, Stills, and Nash, B.B. King, Freddie King, Robert Cray, Queen, Pink Floyd, etc. etc. etc.

I'll add more as I think of them later.

I just hate it that they never play the old stuff live anymore. nothing beat walls of death for "the guillotine" and "there's no sympathy for the dead"

in random order

- Heaven shall burn
- Ignite
- Queens of the stone age
- Unearth
- Muse
- Radiohead
- In Flames (not the newest albums tho, they suck)
- Amon Amarth
- Arkangel
- Audioslave
- Rage against the machine
- Fear factory
- Metallica
- Slayer
- System of a down

I find it ironic that Iron Legends which is supposed to be metal oriented has emos Most metalheads can't stand the diluted little goths (Not trying to start an argument I just find it funny, I guess everyone has a right to listen to what they like )

Yeah it's funny.

The fact is, Metal is the one genre I can't stand. I like a couple of musics from the big bands but that's about it. I'm not even a fan of Iron Maiden

I would have to agree with that. For some reason metal is my absolute least favorite genre of all. I'd never even heard of Iron Maiden before this except for GuitarHero but that doesn't count.
