Default Ball Ladder Commentary
Hey there all! I find myself with some free time now and then, and we all know how it is sitting in Ladder waiting to get in on a match. So I figured I'd put that time to good use and record some Ladder matches!

Now, take note, my laptop has not aged well over the years. Many of the various free programs I've used to capture these videos have had... a number of issues, usually ranging from video quality to audio/video sync. I'm currently using an instance of FRAPS that I acquired, so hopefully that will prove to be more stable for future recordings.

Now, on to why you wandered in here in the first place: videos!

rosettastone= UFO btw, who is on 2G4U. Really cool of you to do this, if i may ask what program are you using to record? You can get the full version of fraps off of a torrent rather easily and it works wonders so if you arent already using that I recommend it.

Nice to see more commentating, it's always fun to watch others' opinions on players and what they'd do in certain situations, or just talk about random ****.

By the way newter was being a total prick spamming the chat log with personal insults to various people (myself included of course ^^) and refusing to sit.

Thanks Kuja, it's stuff like peoples' names I don't know. Right now I'm just using some free "Webcam Video Capture" thing I found online, I only have the unregistered version of fraps so I may look for that.

I also had a few recordings from earlier in the day but the program I was using destroyed them as soon as I stopped recording, and the other one came out about 1-inch square with resolution to match, so those seem to be lost =(

I like talking to myself, so this is honestly a pretty fun way to pass time for me.


edit: Oh yeah there were a few things I said that were completely WRONG but I was talking faster than my brain was running. ie: I said that I don't see Kuja on the forums much, I meant that I don't PLAY with you much, I see you around the forums all the time.

Thanks for the support guys, both in here and in-game.

We have 3 new videos posted from earlier today. I also have a fourth and one of me recording while playing, but both of those were cut off by phone calls from my girlfriend so I think I'll hold on to them.

Trying to get the software situation sorted out. Right now I'm using some Webcam Video Capture software I got for free. Kuja suggested I torrent a retail version of fraps, but when I did the videos it gave me had no video, distorted sound, and would crash any media player after a few seconds. Anyone who could point me to a proven version of fraps would be much appreciated, or some other solution.

Yeah I want to do some more vids. Hey juggs, my software is working great and I figured out how to record mumble convos along with the game action. Let's commentate via mumble together sometime. You can join the {ball} roundtable heheh. It's more fun to talk to others rather than to yourslef.... Trust me. I finish finals next Tuesday so prob Only after that though.

Very nice. I think you are just awesome in this. The videos are entertaining, fun and you've got a lot of point in what you say (I mean you know what's actually going on in the game). Plus your voice is really clear. Keep this up and I'll give you a cracker.

i use iShowU. I don't know if it's mac specific or not though.

Bah. As it turns out, I'm gonna have to work in the morning. So unfortunately I won't be able to record the US vs. World match tomorrow =( Hopefully someone else gets a good video of it to watch later. Best of luck to everyone involved!

That's perfectly ok! How would you like me to pronounce it? I could say... Wide-eyes? Or if there's some other tag you'd prefer to go by. That goes for anyone! (I haven't been on in a while since I'm kinda busy with school and making preparations for next year, but I'll get back to this at some point)

i was just looking back and i saw +4 i have a picture but i cant get it up, nikon and guava u guys remember that it was us 3 plus 3 other guys and we were in 1st second and third and we almost lost! lol those were the good old days

Hey look! New Video!

It's being processed now so it's not very good quality. I'm hoping it improves as it goes through youtube.

Also I still seem to be having trouble with 5+ second video delay in certain parts. Seeing as I've now had that issue with 3 separate programs I'm starting to wonder what it could be.

Moreeeee video! I got a copy of FRAPS that will hopefully work better, though it still gave me some trouble. Quality is vastly improved over past recordings, and no audio sync issues (oh happy day!).

Working on uploading the 2nd match I recorded from the same day, it got split into 2 avi's and a tmp file ( ), soooooo... we'll see what I can do with that.
