Default Lots of people- More Teams?

Now that we have a lot of active players, usually enough to fill a whole server on average, I think it would be cool to try something we could never do properly in the old altitude: Team FFA and Multi-Team TBD (TBD, but with three or four bases). I would defiantly want to know how multi team TBD, or 3BD or 4BD would work out, but TFA (fFA with teams) sounds like a cool play mode as well.

Can we give at least one of these a shot?

I thought about multi team TBDs but the factor I always ran into is that some of the teams would be at a disadvantage due to where their base was located. Now I realize that the disadvantage could be mitigated through various map designs or power-ups, but the balance becomes increasingly harder. You either end up with bases in the center of the map, basically like 4 in a row, in which the center bases are obviously easier to bomb (get hit from both directions). Or you have altitude differences in which some bases are up high and some are low in which case the lower bases are obviously easier to bomb. If you have a good idea of how to make this work then let me know.

As for team FFA, I think we have all been calling for Team Death Match for quite some time. I think that Lam has it on his list of things to do, but I can't be sure.

On Altitude 1 there was a map called "threebases" which I think was pretty balanced. Basically, the bases were in a triangle, with the one in the middle in the sky, high above the other two bases.

Spherical map with the top of the map in the center, and gravity pulling toward the circumference.

Oh yeah, I made that map! I remember that map it was cool. There was a volcano base, a pipeline base and a flying base.

Multiple teams in a base game would only be fun if there was some unique rule variation that made it more than just a TBD with three teams, in my opinion. For example, three teams with identical bases (the maps can wrap around, remember). You're assigned which base to attack, and if that base dies you win. Therefore you have motivation to help protect the base of the third player, even though they are trying to kill your base.

Better would be the type of game with five bases in a circle where if the opposite two are destroyed, you win, so your neighbors are like allies (like in MTG). Would be fun for advanced play with people who know what they're doing, but definitely not noob friendly.

Team death match would definitely be nice. First team to a certain number of kills or the team that has the most kills after a certain amount of time. Would definitely give a lot more variety to the game.
