Explodet mine color
So I was just thinking about mines, especially the non remote type. If there is more than one explodet on the team and you lay a minefield your mines get lost and you don't know where you can move safely from your own mines. How about making that red flashy light green for your own mines to make it easier to see where you can go.

I agree with punishing over-usage. IMO its fine as it is.

I think this is a good idea. It's kinda like the shading of acid, right?

When there's 2-3 Explos' on the other team, I want them to be punished for it. Making it easier to mass explo is exactly what I don't want to happen.
If there's 1-2 explos on a team, it shouldn't be too hard to keep track of your own mines, if there's more, then you deserve to die if you can't. |

As an explodet player I agree that this should probably not be made any easir for us.

Agree with original poster. There are better ways to nerf explodet than making it so they have trouble getting information that should be obvious.

The way I see it it puts a little bit of additional skill ceiling to the Explo as you need to actually be aware where you place your mines and keep track of them. Actually you need to do that anyway, so there's no reason to learn it, so it sort of encourages good gameplay.

I strongly agree with the "mine-owner confusion is well-deserved punishment for laying too many mines" crowd. Mine fields are a sign of poor Explodet use and poor energy management.
Personally, if I were one of the devs and I had infinite time on my hands, I'd go a step further and make it so that mines simply dud out after their time ends (instead of exploding on their own), to further decrease the kills earned by poor Explodet play. |

I think mines should actually fall out of the sky when their time ends and hit planes on their way down. It would be hilarious if not balanced, at least.

Well if they explode on their own after the timer then no enemy triggered them, so exploding doesn't really hurt the enemy, right? But it can however hurt the owner, which is a punishment for just laying out random mines everywhere. Also, a skilled explodet can actually use those exploding mines for speed boosts if they can keep the timer in their head, which is again a nice added benefit of the current behavior. Dud mines would basically just boost explo for most players and remove one nice trick from them.

That would make for some hilarious games. |
