APL3 Voting - New Ballot System

Sup Fellow Altituders,
I have put together a voting system I think would better facilitate awarding APL3 superlatives. I took this project on, because I didn’t think the current method was the best approach, and it was at times unclear as to whether that vote would pan out. While having captains’ nominees was a good idea, some took issue with its implementation. I think most people can appreciate Mled’s effort even if he got a lot of s*** for it. At any rate, I tried to develop a voting system that would be simple, accurate, and give everyone a fair shot at being nominated for something. You may notice the number of candidates for each category is at times lengthy. I could have narrowed down the selection to keep voters from becoming overwhelmed, but I think most people already have certain candidates in mind. Lastly, I’m sure there are certain inaccuracies with the rosters I used, so if you see something that needs to be rectified, just PM me.

Anyway, I thought I'd give this new system a test. If successful, it is something that can most likely be adapted for future leagues. But for now, even if it seems a bit redundant, if you can remember back to APL3, by all means, vote away

I'm not trying to step on any toes here. I actually contacted Mled a couple times. Since he mentioned dropping his vote several times in his own thread, I resumed work on this one. After all the work I put into this, it seemed silly not to release it. At any rate, I wanted to at least test this thing!

just as a short remark.

1. Thank you for doing this!

2. Since noone (EvilArsenal) ever really cared to correct the main post of roster lists, you should look every single roster once again. At least DW had huuge changes during the season (we changed like 4-5 guys, who never played in APL (like Zwanglos, who's in some lists) on 4-5 guys who played almost every match (like Tote, who I would really name the most improved player of APL).
I realize it's a lot of time to invest to check all of the roster, so if you don't feel like - there's no need (since we're all having fun in here). But I had to say that, in order to make it right.

Yeah, I wasn't always sure which rosters to use, since teams often subbed or dropped players. Storm and I went through and tried to put together the most relevant rosters for the ballot. But since members of various teams will have better insight than us, certainly help us out by posting corrections, and I can implement the necessary changes.

Rookie of The Year- i dont see any of them as rookies. this was my first real clan and really my first ever competitve play. i help win 4 matchs for KLF

In order to be eligible to win this, I required it to be their first Proleague season. It doesn't matter if someone has been playing for 5 years. It may seem a little odd, but there didn't seem like any other way to do this without constructing arbitrary requirements (e.g., "Has only been playing for 3 months").

You can vote again. It will just erase your previous vote. So if you do, make sure you fill out all of the categories again -- not just the ones you want to change.

Yea totally. YOu can play forever but if this is your first competitve league then your a rookie. I have been playing almost a year now and this is my first league. I wasn't in a clan in APL2 and i wasnt around for Summer League.

the only thing i dont like is the fact that you choose from a huge number of people. EVERYTHING involving awards is not done like this. Oscars, MMVA, ALL of them they all have about 5 people per category and thats what i tried to do, i could have easily done this too.[
