Default Server hosting on my linux server

Ok I am running my server on my linux server just fine, but it's damn big. I have the feeling that there are many unnecessary files in there. Could you please make a prepared package for the dedicated server, since it kinda sucks that I have to install the total altitude server by SSH. It's kind of big and it gives me a lot of things I don't want. (options to make shortcuts etc)
Just make a package of the necessary files, so it would get easier for professional hosts to start hosting this game.

About the only thing that isnt required is the JRE.

delete <altitude install dir>/jre

Edit <altitude installd dir>/.install4j/pref_jre.cfg to point to a valid java 1.5 jre.

So you need sound files etc?
Would make it twice as small already anyway (excl. maps)

An altitude-server.deb would be awesome indeed

I've started toying around with the idea, but I've a feeling a lot of it will be trial and error

Just warning you now, without the prepackaged jre, you are gonna have a hell of a time configuring things to use a different jre.....which is REQUIRED. So you might as well use the one that comes prepackaged.
