Default Steam must be running in order to open altitude.

I just tried to get into altitude to play a few rounds and i get a message that says steam must be running in order to open altitude.

Steam is clearly open and i have tried rebooting, restarting steam and restarting altitude. I have also tried opening altitude 3 difrent ways.

I want to get in and shoot down some plains. I payed 10 dollars for this game and so far it was not worth it.

Any one know what is happening? Any one can fix the problem?

Thanks a lot,

Dredclaw

Im running mac 10.5.8

We're working with Valve on a fix, in the meantime you can use this workaround:

1) Launch Steam (and leave it running)
2) Instead of launching Altitude from Steam, open up the finder and search for altitude
3) Double-click the "altitude" result in the ~Documents/Steam Content/common/altitude directory -- launching Altitude from the finder should work perfectly
see if this works.

Please submit a bug report (launch Altitude, press F1 to open the console, reportBug, submit) and I will take a look.

This issue should be fixed in the latest patch.

Did you buy the game from Steam or from our website (PayPal/etc)? If you bought it from our website you must launch the standalone version from http://altitudegame.com/download.html

If you purchased from Steam and you're launching from within the Steam UI and you're seeing that message, please submit a bug report (launch Altitude, F1 to open console, reportBug, submit) and I'll take a look.
