suggestion: unofficial maps tournament

Would anyone be interested in an informal sort of tournament featuring the best unofficial maps? I think this would be a good way for lots of people to see these maps and such.

Well the reason they are not official maps in the first place is because of their inferior quality.

I feel like an unofficial map tourney, while frustrating, could be a great thing overall. Often times people don't really know what's wrong with a map other than just not liking it. If you get competitive play on such maps you could make a list of what exactly is wrong with them and perhaps add to a guide about why those things are bad. I'm sure it could lead to a lot better maps overall

great idea. And btw most unofficial maps arent that bad, they just do not have what it takes to be official or anyone rarely plays them becuase of servers not hosting them. If we did have this kind of tourny i vote tbd_blachole to be in it

I'm all for it! Getting a new map into circulation is all well and good for those of us with connections but I doubt tbd_focus would've made it without me having a connection to the New England servers.

Well-polished maps need a showcase to move up to competitive play (and usually several versions aided by constructive feedback.) Let's do it!

I must give you props for Focus, at first i did not much care for it but now its in my top 3 favorite maps to play.

the most important thing for a map to becoem official is the playability! my suggestion is for any people who are bad at art/graphics but feel they have a great idea for a playable tbd map that migth compete with the likes of roids etc to make a template map, even draw by hand an scan then anyone who is up to it can pick it up tweek it an art it up?!
