Default TBD CityScape

This map is a half-sober attempt, but here goes . . .

Welcome to the Altitude city! Here, you can see many of the stars in altitude play in the Proleague stadium! Also, many of these teams have created successful businesses in the area, so visit them when you can!

Ugh, this editor's been a pain in the ***, deleted this map twice and won't let me upload the map into the editor anymore. Oh well, here's some of the main points of the map, along with the download link to it.

To do list:
1. Create a better background
2. Create a ball version with ball teams.
3. Insert the other TBD teams in somehow.

This map is one big circle jerk! Please post what you think, also! gogogogo

@Sinstar: If you want to mess around with it, please be my guest! My resources for graphic art is limited at the moment, so any help would be welcome!

@Silent Skies: Hmmm . . . That's a good idea, sir.

@Class: Certainly.

I just sketched up a brick wall texture to use as you see fit:

Alright, here's a screenshot without a background. Still trying to make a background that's good for this map. Any suggestions?

Edits:
1. Added shadows to windows on Performance area and Bongs Hustler Club.
2. Changed Bong's Bar to Bong's Hustler Club, on Silent's request.
3. Spammed Silent's awesome brick layout like a Loopy spams missiles.
4. Made the Billboards look like Billboards.
5. Made loading crates. One of them says mean things to ballers. (Don't worry, Ball_Cityscape will have similar anger towards TBDers.)

By the way, where should I go to get this tested? I'm finishing up some background issues, but I'd like to get some player feedback.

Ask krawz if he can host it in bomb dojo. If not, you might be able to get someone from the New England servers to give it a whirl.

In terms of actual map layout, I ask that you make the low route more viable.

I'll move the two buildings up, but should I do anything else to make the low route better? Also, I'm gonna add another building to the top route, make it a little harder.

I am missing BB, but the hotel represents KLF, one bar represents IL, the other, Bong's Bitches. I need to think up an obstacle for BB and MAD, though.

A perfectly vertical climb, then slight horizontal push right over the spawn is still really hard. Any half competent whale can hold back the tide until the respawns are ready. I know the "vertical" thing is hard considering the way the geometry is, but maybe you could open up going behind the base? Also, I strongly advise making the hole in the KLF hotel perfectly flat. Red tricksters have a huge advantage in bounce shots with that slope.

Last update of the day, probably of the week.

http://www.mediafire.com/?oidamhg1gmzmneh

Major change: Can't really explain it. See screenshot.

I need to add a few more turrets along the bottom path, I think; but I'm not entirely sure where I should put them.

as far as the layout goes i suggest you also include some smaller objects before the base to make bombing a bit easier. and maybe make a cut through the centre hotel so you have more than just 2 paths.

There is a cut through. Notice how one section is darker? The turret placement seems a little..... odd, but still an improvement over before.

Alright, kind of like the small stuff in grotto and such?

Edit: I'll be fixing the side buildings to have the lighter texture in the next update.

I'm not liking where the turrets are placed, either, but I'm having a hard time finding a good place for them right now. Testing should help with that.

If you want my advice on the turrets, put the mostly along the back wall and one underneath the fLb Vs L* sign.

Also, minor annoyance, but would it be possible to add transparent bottoms to the | and IL buildings? The floating structures look sort of... weird.

I understand if not though, since it's a graphics rework.

No trouble at all, I'm starting to get the hang of my graphics stuff. (not great looking, but it's pretty easy to edit stuff)

I just noticed something, when the opposing team is near your base weather the runner decides to go low or high the chances of the opposition being able to get to them in time to stop the attack are quite low D
looks fun to play tho.

Well, I'm hoping this setup forces players to not crowd the center. Also, when testing it, the bottom route is easier, but turrets on the back wall should help fix that.

Alright, OP has the new version of the map.

Edited background, though I think it looks a little messy.

Added bottoms to the buildings, sort of like an underground tunnel.

Buildings on bottom might be replaced with asphalt texture.

Turrets placed on back wall, I think it makes the bottom route harder than the top now.

Tell me what you think!
