High ping
Hey i got a Ping problem, my ping is to high. when i enter a game its perfectly fine but sometimes it randomly kicks me out and tell me my pings high. the limited ping is 300 usually and my pings is 600, 700. how do i lower my ping?

Your ping is based on your location and distance from that particular server (e.g. if you live in Australia and the server is in the U.S., you'll have a high ping), and also on your Internet connection "quality." In other words, if your connection with your ISP is not very good and/or you are using your computer for other services that require uploading/downloading data (e.g. streaming audio, file sharing, etc.), your ping will fluctuate between lower and much higher values.

yes its good to know what u just said and everything, but is there a possible solution to lower it?

Move closer to the server, or join servers that are closer to you.
Also make sure you aren't connected to some home network - which tends to mess your internet up at times. Firewalls also mess things up a bit... If you give me your state/province I could give you some servers closest to you...

I'm getting unusually high ping as well.. When I play most games, I get very little ping even when using a server based in another country. But for some reason Altitude gives me very high ping, regardless of server location, firewalls, or background programs.
EDIT: Nevermind, I had to open up port UDP Protocol 27272 on Windows Firewall, I thought before that all I had to do was make an exception for Altitude. Last edited by Benstokes; 09-07-2010 at 06:19 AM.
