Old doodle was amazing. I don't know why it was changed because 2-3 people cried about it.

Amazing? That's a bit too much imo.

The whales, randas and bombers loved it. The loopies and bips didn't. >.>

well now hardly anybody likes it, so I propose either
a. Removing it from ladder or
b. creating a command something like vote custom start_random_not_doodle

i think the problem can be solved without needing to take the map out completely... I think if maybe manatee can make the map at least a bit less wide it would help quite a lot. Also another thing, the surfaces of the map doesn't support self bounces very much. the texture of the blocks makes a lot passes off the ground bounce back or in a completely different direction...Im just emphasizing the self passing because the map was made by a randa and it doesnt support a miranda's (NOT OP) self pass.... This is imo by far the worst ball ladder map and I am pretty sure a large majority would agree.

I agree this should be removed from the Ladder Map Pool also.

But, kudos to Nasty for all the work he put into the map.

I believe nobo's prevailing line of thought is that he'll remove the bad maps when people make better ones.

So get crackin'?

If it is, that's a perfect incentive

This is correct.

And for those who complain saying that they don't have any art skill I only point you to look at doodle: does it look like it took art skill to make?

I think time has shown this is bad incentive. You might as well add every bad map (edit : as in unfinished) out there as a sign of protestation against the community's lack of creativity. But something tells me you don't want to sabotage your own ladder that way.
I appreciate the fact that you want to add variety to the ball ladder, but that's not what doodle brings to the table. It brings boredom. No offense to Nasty, it has potential and fun graphics but it is just way too big for a fast paced mode like ball. A resize would surely correct that problem but until then, please remove it from the random, as most people see it as a chore every time it shows up.

i like doodle

the problem is that these jokers in ball make doodle take forever because they go 14-55 in games on that map; they aren't skilled enough to survive a journey across themap with enough planes to make a go at the goal

TLDR stop sucking doodle is too pro for you

I think if that green arrow in front of the goals was removed,or changed into a smaller obstacle or something, matches wouldn't last as long. But since the topic of new maps has been brought up, ball_ufo should definitely go through the testing process of being approved to be added to the ladder rotation.

I kind of like the way doodle was originally where it was really tight and you couldnt go down a wrong alley or you would be out of position making it require skill.

I must agree. The intense close quarters provided a unique experience that no other map brings to the table, instead of playing like an oversized Core clone.

I agree, I liked pre-Walmart sized doodle more. I do think the criticism of being too small was warranted, but it dun got blowed up way too big.

But as it stands, no one really looks forward to a ladder match on doodle...

They long matches on doodle are bad.

The short matches on doodle are bad.

Matches are either long or short..

Before doodle was unique now its a carbon copy of every other map: big and open lolfest just uglier.

Its like what they did with mayhem, it used to be really awesome but for public (newb) consumption they just opened it up and made it generic. A tight map was an excellent change of pace and that compensated for the ugly artwork but now it just has nothing.

+1

Also the old version of lab with inverted goals, was hard as hell, but still fun. Fortunately, the new lab is cool too.

I shrunk it widthwise by 300 pixels and submitted it to the manatee for approval. I don't know if he'll like it though bc I'm not particularly skilled with the editor, so don't get your hopes up. Mike, could you ask mana to take a look at his PMs if you're in contact with him? Thanks

FUNNEL OF LOVE
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s44P4f3oNHk

Here I go,
Going down, down, down,
My mind is a blank,
My head is spinning around and around,
As I go deep into the funnel of love.

It's such a crazy, crazy feeling,
I get weak in the knees,
My poor old head is a reelin',
As I go deep into the funnel of love.

I tried and I tried, to run and hide,
I even tried to run away,
Ya just can't run from the funnel of love,
It's gonna get ya someday.

It's such a crazy, crazy feeling,
I get weak in the knees,
My poor old head is a reelin',
As I go deep into the funnel of love.

I tried and I tried, to run and hide,
I even tried to run away,
Ya just can't run from the funnel of love,
It's gonna get ya someday.

Here I go, going down, down, down,
My mind is a blank,
My head is spinning around and around,
As I go deep into the funnel of love,
Deep into the funnel of love,
Deep into the funnel of love.

PS - Excuse me for takin so much room... just couldnt resist... "funnel" its a great place to be
