Default Randa warp

Heya.

If you warp foreward (afterburner/dash/whatever), and have a skin (tested with camo) you lose it for a brief moment after you come out of the warp.

Is this intentional?

I noticed this a while back and personally dismissed it as being related to the issue of skins not drawing properly on the planes after an admin had been messing with the plane scale.

But now that it's been brought up again, closure would be nice. ^^

The Miranda's superluminal warp capability exposes its hull to potent stressors that would instantly vaporize standard paint. Therefore, unlike other planes that simply change their paint job, the Miranda employs an optical projection system to achieve the desired change in appearance. Unfortunately, the extreme requirements of superluminal warp require 100% of the Miranda's energy production capabilities, hence energy is temporarily diverted from secondary/cosmetic systems like the skin projector during the warp process. After warping the skin reappears as energy becomes available for the projector.

Incorrect use of troll. That was just Lam being funny. Not trying to illicit any kind of extreme reaction as per the definition.

According to a dictionary, yes. However, this community seems to have adopted entirely new definitions for several online terms.

It's best not to fight this sort of change, no matter how frustrating it is. Remember way back when "Ain't" wasn't a word and it was frowned upon for being used? Remember when "Ain't" got added to the dictionary was considered acceptable for use? >.> It's sad that language development works this way, but there's really nothing we can do about it, and online slang is no different.

Collection of awesome dev posts now up to 3.

Here's the first one- when elixir asked for explodets' 10% extra damage on rubber hull to be rolled back:

Unfortunately I couldn't do that without a major rewrite of the physics system. We modeled the rubberized hull carefully with every material system capable of withstanding the relevant aerodynamic constraints while providing the appropriate elasticity on wall collisions. The ideal material, according to detailed simulations, provides reduced protection from concussive blasts of the sort produced by the Explodet's weapons.
