Default Altitude messes with my xrandr dual-monitor setup (Linux)

The problem is fully described here.

I understand that problem is mostly on my side. Mostly.

In fact, i'm OK with running the game in windowed mode.
Question is, how do I make the game not change resolution or anything at exit?

Probably also related to this.

Please try the test version from

http://nimblygames.com/test/altitude.sh

Does that build resolve your issue?

Thank you for the fast response and all the effort, I really appreciate it.
Will download and test it in 30 mins, because my Internet connection is dying at the moment.

Funny thing is, I actually own a (temporary) license for Starcraft 2, but prefer Altitude because I can play it on my main system (Linux).
Indie companies for the win

It did the same thing at first: my main (left) monitor has lost the signal, and the game started on second one, in fullscreen mode (which is default). The only difference is that it wasn't proper fullscreen - system toolbar stayed on top of the screen, and the game was really slow. It also lost keyboard focus and I wasn't able to enter my login.
And at exit that monitor lost signal, but the first one started to function.

After reboot, I tried again. The game wasn't slow and keyboard worked alright. So, it was a random bug and doesn't really matter Monitors are still losing signal though.

And then (after another reboot) I tried windowed mode, and it was alright. No problems at exit anymore.

So, your test version doesn't touch resolution settings at exit anymore, thanks.
What about fullscreen mode, I think it's a problem somewhere in xrandr, or unstable open-source radeon R600 drivers, so that Awesome (window manager) actually restarts when Altitude goes to fullscreen mode/changes resolution.

Thanks a lot, I can play Altitude now!

Going to test if bigger resolution works now, will write about it shortly.

Yep, it doesn't break anything anymore when I change resolution to 1280x1024.
Fully functional windowed mode for me now, thanks again.

Will this fix incorporated in the next update?

OK we'll continue to look into it. I will try to make sure this change is included in the next major patch.

It was included, but you reverted too much on the last update (26 Nov) - the problem at the game exit is back.

Sorry about that. Until we get a proper merged version you can use the version from http://nimblygames.com/test/altitude.sh

Figured it out.

I should have ran "xrandr --output HDMI-0 --mode 1280x1024 --right-of DVI-0" with sudo.
That way normal applications don't have access to Randr's setup (resolution etc.), and so can't break anything.

Edit:
No, it didn't actually solve the main problem for the official release of Altitude, but I think I moving in right direction - the settings can be restored by running xrandr again now.
