Default Can't open map editor

I have the steam version of the client, and I can't open the map editor either directly or through the link in game. Windows (vista 64) gives me this error and says the program has stopped working:

Looks like it crashed in the NVIDIA OpenGL driver. Have you tried updating your video drivers?

Looking into this -- not sure why some of Nvidia's newer drivers are incompatible with the editor.

Alright, thanks. Just FYI I downloaded the standalone client and that didn't work either.

My editor was acting up a lot a couple months ago ... not in necessarily the same way. The editor would open, but I wouldn't be able to do anything in it at all, and eventually it would either crash (after I tried to do stuff) or I'd just have to exit out.

A completely unexpected fix for the problem was to open the editor as a System Administrator (right click the .exe or shortcut and select Run as System Administrator). Everything started magically working after that.

Don't know if it will help here, but give it a shot anyway.
