Question for Lamster
I am thinking of doing a modification for another indie game (cortex command) to give it side scrolling planes, in a similar style to Altitude. Now, I really, really love the way Altitude animates the plane as you go through a loop/flatten out, etc. I'm wondering if, lamster, you could explain how this animation system determines what frame to show; is it purely rotation, or something else entirely?
EDIT: Also how does it determine when to flip a plane after flying upside down for an extended period, and what method did you use the spawn projectiles below the sprite in any rotation. Last edited by Grif; 06-05-2009 at 11:55 PM. |

knowledge and code aren't the same thing. code is something that's been built, it represents hard work. it's like the difference between a guy who has carpenter training and an actual house.
also: virtually all open source software is complete **** compared to the closed source equivalents. you have a few standouts, but the vast majority are garbage. it's hard to argue with results. :/ |
