Default This Means War

This thread is made for people who want to express their ideas, opinions, and art for Altitude's marketing revenues.

Currently the art used for Altitude's logo/trailer is what some may call "war-themed." Distressed text is used often, the promo picture is a dark battlefield of exaggerated planes, and the logo follows suit with the "bullet-holes-metal" look. Many players are not happy with this and even the developers are looking for something new.

Good points Flexio and something that has been on the guys minds since the release in 2009. However, it's not that easy.

1. Altitude's old advertising art were cool pictures of the game. The feedback they got was that it was too "cartoonish" and it looked like a kiddie game.

2. They only used the girl pic on steam because after the feedback they got from #1 they tried to do something that showed it wasn't a kiddie game

3. We all hated the girl pic and have since sent in 2 different pics to replace it to steam. Steam has never used either one even though they both were WAY better than some random chick in a plane.

4. Finding good, reliable artists takes money and is challenging bc the key words there are good AND reliable.

One of Altitude's biggest problems is that is shows like **** in advertising.

Sorry to everyone if I'm too passionate about this.

You're not being too passionate at all. We love it when people are honest and try to help the game. Nothing wrong with that.

Well yes, finding good artists is expensive, but we have a great community here, some of them are pretty good artists, and all of them seem greedy for some CP... You could get a contest started where anyone could enter as many new advertising/propaganda pictures as they wanted. Pick some winners and dish out some CP. Boom! Bang! You've got a better website/steam pic, then maybe more for later on!

We do have some great artists here. I think we tried this in the past, but I can't remember. Maybe I will get something going in the next few days

The prize could be CP and a Mumble chat with me and Lamster where we will talk trash about Karl and Aggie. lol.

Yeah, having a contest for images/video would work well IMO. There are plenty of aspiring or professional artists in the community that might be able to contribute.

It would help for the video if they released a stock footage toolkit to work with, since many potential editors don't have the equipment or time to go out and record a ton of footage. They did the capturefest a while ago to collect it but AFAIK they ended up piecing together the final results themselves?

There are several graphic artists playing alti. Why not hire them to do some artwork. Seems like people who actually play the game would have a better idea of what to draw.

great points, but you got to remember, people like Vi Hart (V*) or Arthur Norcome (Arty) do these kinds of things to keep themselves in a home. So, as long as you find some people like that, you shouldn't have a problem. Arty has made several great pics, like for my clan, {ball}, and Twisted. I would definetely trust Arty to do art for advertising. He's good and reliable, and Zoe, just ask anyone, he's extremely patent and will never yell. He's absolutely perfect for art in altitude. Vi Hart is an artist too, but more for just giving a smile on some faces. Not that I'm saying she's worse, but she's already done a big part in the music, and so on. Although, I hate the new theme song, I liked the old sound effects and theme song. So, I suggest you guys should try and contact him, because I hiley dought he wouldn't want to help out if it was needed.

Anyway, altitude could be called cartoonish, but imo, I think if you want a game like this, then you make one. It's tricky, because you cant ever float someones boat. But, people who do like it, like me, respect that.

Nuff said.

I wasn't questioning my homosexuality, I was questioning if that really could be logical proof of my homosexuality.

Wow, omegle. I remember that. One time, I ended up chatting with a guy I was msn'ing with... the odds were amazing.

But anyway... yeah, the current ad does nothing to represent actual gameplay. I know I've complained about it before, but I understand why nothing has been done, IE all the reasons above.

This that and also the line "multiplayer experience like you've never seen before" is incorrect grammar. Should be "A multiplayer experience like you've never seen before."
