Slight issue with Altitude via steam.
I recently got a gifted copy of Altitude from a friend (who also gave me the game files from their computer) via steam after playing the game on their account/computer and when I started the game it logged into his account. So I logged out of his account and created my own, however when I had started playing when it wanted me to purchase the game again.
I've apparently run out of demo time and very much wish to play it with my friend again. I'm hoping this is an easy fix. I sent an email to support@nimblygames.com about a week ago, however I haven't got a response as of yet. Thanks for your help. PS. The reason why I didn't just download the game is we're currently on a limited mobile connection (7GB a month) and my friend didn't think it would have logged into his account. He would like to know how to prevent it happening again though. |

The reason that you haven't gotten a response is because the developers were both poisoned in a bakingsoda/vinegar/chemicals carpet cleaning accident.
No lies. They'll be back soon me thinks. |

Sorry for the slow support -- there was indeed an unfortunate poisoning incident but I'm back in the office and making my way through support emails now. Please email us again if your problem has not been resolved within 3 hours.

I couldn't find the original support request; please email your Altitude nickname and your friend's Altitude nickname along with your Steam UID (from the file C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\altitude\log\Altitude .log on the line starting "Steam UID is") to support@nimblygames.com and I'll fix this issue.

Hi lamster,
I've just resent the email to the support address as the information you requested was already in the email. Thanks for the help. PS. Will you be needing my friend's Steam UID from his log? |

Thanks Roxy, your account should be fixed now. To prevent issues like this from happening in the future remove the directory ~Altitude/config (which contains your computer-specific options and saved login credentials) from any manually-copied installation.

Thanks, it works now. Sorry I didn't reply sooner, been too busy playing Altitude!
EDIT: Just one thing that's not really an issue, but it's 'there'. On my friend's copy, he can switch users, but after deleting the config folder on my computer, I can't. It just automatically logs me into my account, and the option to switch users isn't there in the menu at all. Last edited by Roxy; 01-04-2011 at 12:01 PM. |
