Sorry but you don't get community points for purchasing gifts on steam. If you look at the share page from your altitude it says that due to steamworks api not having valid information for that - you can't receive any CP from any steam gifting. Sorry =(

My points is, I don't use steam. So idk if theres any internal steam gifting engine. But by the way mike said it I got under the impression that there is.
So my question is does steam have a internal gifting system, and if yes, is there a way to gift to steamers using the standard alti link? Last edited by mlopes; 12-30-2010 at 03:04 PM. |

Well if you can read you should l2write and write a good question, because the one you asked involves the steam version, and not the regular version like you just asked. To answer your question: I know steam has a messaging system, message your friend with the alti link and gg. Now I have a question for you: why the **** would you want to know all of this if you don't have steam? |

My bad, kinda. For all I know you can only give someone a game in steam by gifting them and you can only do that using the steam gifting system which does not give you community points.

here's what you do. Go to your own link. Buy the account. Give the information on a piece of paper in a box in a box in a box in a box wrapped up with a bow. After that, if the friend wants the game on steam he can just add it to his steam list, or if steam has a demo, he can download that and enter the info there.

Assuming this was awhile ago, because Alti on Steam has been on sale for a couple weeks now. It's at $2.49 now.

I love how the OP managed to find the MAKE EVERYTHING BOLD BUTTON. I bet it was all in caps too but you can't type in all caps on this stupid forum.

>_> I'm pretty sure the ONLY way to earn community points is by gifting it over paypal. I don't believe you can connect that to steam in any way.

Unfortunately there's no way for us to track Steam gift purchases; information about Steam purchases is only accessible to Valve. To earn community points for gifts you must purchase using the PayPal link on your share page. That said, if you bought a Steam-gift copy of Altitude at full price I will try to get you some points -- please email support@nimblygames.com with the subject "steam gift community points" and include your Altitude nickname and your friend's Altitude nickname.
