Default Turretnator's computer stolen! ... need your help

Hi folks. What a crappy week. On Christmas Eve, my house was broken into and they stole my brand new MacPro QuadCore. Those of you familiar with me around here know that im a musician and i have lost my entire set up; tons of software, plug ins, etc. But worst of all.... Altitude.

Okay seriously though. I am obviously devastated. And along with police reports, pawn shops, craigslist, etc... i am trying to cover every possible base to find a way to track down my computer so i can get my stuff back and launch a Heavy Cannon into the face of these criminals.

So the reason i am posting is this: i'm wondering if anyone has seen my account online since the 24th? Maybe any of my friends.. Blasty, Jazz, Juin.cv, FeArZ (PacMan), CCN, Pieface, etc... and any other's who frequently see my reverse-thrusting acid-spewing ass online. My old backup computer im on cant run Altitude, so if my 'Turretnator' account has been logged in at all since December 24th, it was most certainly not me, and likely the thieves.

I realize it's a long-shot, but i had to try. But seriously, unless these crooks are just going to disassemble my comp and sell it piecemeal, i am sure one of their first priorities once they plugged it in is to play the Altitude game which is sitting first on the menu-bar dock thingie. If they did, maybe there would be a way to track an I.P address.

Like i said, i know it's a long-shot, but i had to just mention it. So if anyone HAS seen my account online, please PM me.

Additionally, would there be any way for Lam or Karl (or whoever "runs" the servers) to just check the server logs to see if my account has been active since 12-24? Im not too savvy on server junk like that.

Anyhow, thanks for reading my Altitude friends. Keep bombing bases, shooting there plains, and playing with balls until i return. I know it will be hard for you, but you must try and survive without me for a while.

Man I'm sorry to hear that =/

Good luck with getting that all turned around. I'll take a look at the logs for a bunch of servers but I haven't recalled seeing your account around.

Hi Hurri. yeah im majorly bummed

I'm mostly electronic based.. or, i WAS... until the theft.
A while back i did a virtual symphonic version of the ORIGINAL Altitude theme, from THIS thread:
http://altitudegame.com/forums/showt...etnator&page=2

or you can just hear it here:
http://www.soulwhirlingsomewhere.com...ymphony_v2.mp3

Anyhow, my solo project is, i guess, ambient sad-core electronica, if that makes any sense. myspace.com/soulwhirling

And my other band is a bit more upbeat retroglitchtronica, if i may coin the phrase: myspace.com/mrmeeble.

Anyhoo, thankfully my homeowners insurance will cover the physical cost of replacing everything. But all the original creative work that was lost.... gawd it makes me nauseous. i feel like i was raped.

how bout you, what kinda stuff you do?

Nice. I'm glad you had insurance on it, but yeah, that sucks so bad to have all of your original stuff disappear. I highly recommend using external hard drives. I have my entire HD on one. Of course, I have a Macbook Pro, not a Mac Pro, so I don't need as big of an external HD as you would :/. Anyway, I'm a guitarist, mostly Blues and Rock

Smart idea tho, it might just work if you can get the police to co-operate and track down the ip-address for you. I reckon Karl/lam have the data if you ever log in.

Sherlock nobo's help is needed once again.

Yes I'm at work atm.

You know what would be funny btw?

If this guy really isn't the turretnator and is trying to find the real one because of rage reasons. He would get his ip address by impersonating him here, use his corrupt police friends to track him down and beat the **** out of him.

Yes that would be funny indeed.

Sorry to hear about the loss of work

Unfortunately nobody has logged into Altitude account "The Turretnator" since Dec 23rd -- and it was from the same IP you posted from.

Well, thanks for looking into it, Lam. I doubt the thieves even plugged the thing in; probably just going to try to sell it. But i had to try every avenue to try to find these jerks & get it back. ANyhow, i'll continue to check the altibouncer to see if it does happen to show up.

Thanks again

Oddly enough, they stole my piece o' crap Ibanez 12 string, but walked right past my $1,000 Martin and my Gretsch G-3140 cat eye Hollow body. So that right there assures me they were total idiots.
