favorites servers

New servers:

Ball Favorites - altitudegame.com/map
- 12 players
- normal walls (hard walls)
- 350 ping kick
TBD Favorites - altitudegame.com/map
- 12 players
- normal walls (hard walls)
- 350 ping kick

These servers update their map list daily with the top 10 best rated maps and the 4 newest maps* available at altitudegame.com/map.

I will slowly seed in official maps on altitudegame.com/map so that those maps can also appear on the favorites cycles.

*Newest maps are determined by their last update time with the condition that the map must have a 3.0 or above lifetime rating after 10 ratings.

good point, also changed player count to 12. When the server restarts tonight that's what it will be.

So I think my brilliant idea for these favorites servers was lost so let me try to explain.

We created altitudegame.com/map and the Map Test server to empower map makers with the ability to quickly get their maps out into the world and played.

We created the Ball Favorites and TBD Favorites to empower the players to have a server where they controlled the map pool.

By rating maps YOU determine the map pool. The awesome twist to this server is that you also get a sprinkling of the most recent uploads by the amazing community of map makers we have.

One thing I noticed that was confusing people is that official maps are available on the favorites servers. The reason for this is because the idea for these servers is that every map ever made for Altitude should be available.

Now go forth and rate maps so you will have a server with all the maps you want to play with a slight taste of the latest bleeding edge maps.
