missile powerup should see turrets as a tracking target
The reason for this is I like to frontload damage on a turret by carrying in a missile powerup as well as my normal weapons. Unfortunatly most of the time i shoot the missile directly at the turret and it trys to track itself onto an enemy who is on the edge of my screen and completely misses my target which was the turret.

+1, I also feel the missile should do slightly more damage against turrets. Currently it is by far the least useful powerup and this might help make it more viable.

maybe. this is a maybe for me

I also don't like that the missile comes from underneath the plane often causing damage to the owner not to mention the fact that firing missiles in an enclosed space is almost impossible =S

Also, i get killed by teammate's missiles and my own sometimes...

Nou. Don't tell me you've never killed yourself with a missile, because i know you have at some point. You shoot it as a randa and somehow the missile turns around and tracks you. >_>

If you randa flick a missile, this is what happens. Its cool, usefull, and funny that you fail at it.

No you're wrong. I know how to randa flick a missile. I've been randa flicking missiles for about a year now. It's different than what im talking about dumby.

I once got shot down by a teammate's missile when I had triple golds. It wasn't cool.

I love it when my missiles get confused and tag teammates... And yes, the best way to crash into your own missile is to launch it and then double-warp into it. But don't, because it'll hurt.
To be honest, I don't see the missile as the most useless powerup, in fact they're my favourite. I love how sometimes they'll track an enemy halfway across the map, around corners and sharp turns, and how other times, when fired at a cluster of 3+ enemies, they'll go mental and veer off into the ceiling. It would be nice for them to lock-on to turrets if there were no planes in the area though. And do a touch more damage too. |

Heat seeking missiles can only target things with engines :P

Come to think of it, they do seem to track smokin planes better. They are heat seeking??

Nah... a missile only does 1 damage to a turret.
With a biplane you can do 8 damage in 1 burst. with nades or laser something similar. It's better to use missiles to kill planes as it drains 1/2 of health on light planes and 1/3 on heavy planes... much more effective to ensure a kill in combination with 1 HC or 1 Trickster shot from a distance for example. Trying to kill turrets with missiles seemd like the right thing to do back when I started, but it's just very in efficient. Plus you might mis, and the missile might go on tracking a nearby enemy and hit the walls/ground around the turret in the end. all that for 1 damage? no |

This is why missiles should get a damage multiplier against turrets, taking, say, a third of their health down.

The problem I have here is that turrets are a strategic part of your defense, and if any noob could send 3 missiles in and kill one, it becomes too easy to kill them by whoring the powerups.
Either tracking turrets or doing more dammage when they hit would be ok, but probably not both. Also, I'd like to see a secondary launch mode for powerups. Imagine rear-shield, passing the ball backwards, being able to pass the bomb without launching it, and being able to fire missiles WITHOUT tracking! Alt fire for powerups! |

no.
A flare gun has no engine, yet flares are used to avoid heat seeking missiles. The name says it all; heat seeking missile, they seek heat emitting elements, and lock on the one with highest. Usually you would suspect that in mid air Plane's Engines produce the most heat. |

I dont really mean passing, more the ability to drop it in a way that others can still pick it up, so when you get it on accident or think another player would do a better job running it, you could hand it off. Pretty much it should drop and slowly fall just like when you get killed.

But in TBD-type gameplay, that will basically be passing anyway since your team should be pushing at the same time and will most likely result in a teammate behind you.

maybe "drop". When dropped bomb is neutral?
