Default JALP News

THIS IS NOT THE RELEASE!

This IS, however, news for JALP.

After much recent contact asking me for various details on JALP, I have started development in earnest again. Soon, I will release a basic version of the source code. Only a few of the parsing functions are currently written, so most likely you will have to insert your own code.

Never fear, though, because blank code is of no use to me! I will continue development until I have a basic version that does everything. THEN I can start in on specializations. I already have a request for a team captain to exist, and for them to pick teams. This would facilitate getting a micro-tournament or some such thing set up. Perhaps so a game containing many clan members can easily all get on one team.

That is significantly more advanced, however. First things first.

Current Status:
ClientAdd, ClientRemove, MapChange, PowerupPickup, PowerupUse, ServerInit are all initially written. This does not mean that they are functional, but they exist. Currently I am working on parsing a kill. Other functions will include Assists, Chat (where custom events can be initiated), Goal, NicknameChange, Spawn, StructureDamage (for TBD), TeamChange, and EndOfRound.

The functions that are required for the alpha release (might as well call it what it is) are Kill, Assist, Chat, Goal, and Spawn. EndOfRound is not required, but may be included as well. The rest will come later.

Development has been delayed due to various activities and schoolwork. I will continue ASAP.

JALP has come to a complete halt. I will try to finish a basic framework before posting it for someone else to complete, but at the very least I need to javadoc it so people can actually understand what is going on. Also, its kinda crappy code. We shall see.
