Default desktop thread imo

I'm actually quite surprised that there has not been such a thread yet.
Post your desktop ! (or whatever it is called on macs)

Please resize it a little if your resolution is huge so we don't destroy the forum. Plus it's easier to look at everything without having to scroll sideways.
imgur.com does this perfectly with the thumbnail function once you upload the original image.

So true. How do you make the background not go under the start bar? Yes I stole your pic. Also, rainmeter is awesome.

I edited the picture to add a rectangle at the bottom which was the same size as the start bar.

Actually it's for software I need for school, mainly C++ Builder.

The good thing about Macs is that we can run both Windows and OS X software

No, I heard the new Parallels is faster than the latest Fusion, but I chose Fusion when it was the faster one and I sticked with it. I don't know if it's worth the time and money to switch, really, as I have a native Windows, so I can use that if I need performance.

I'd be happy to upload it if you need me to, but honestly this is an MSPaint job. Here are the steps:

1. Make the image taller by dragging the bottom whatchamacallit down.
2. Change the color of this new area with the fill tool. (optional)
3. Save (or Save As and then delete after)
4. Set as wallpaper
5. Repeat steps 1-4 until you get the size right.
6. Done

To clarify, when I say "Mac", I mean an Apple brand PC and when I say "PC", it means a non-Apple PC that runs Windows. So no, PC's cannot run Mac OS X software, at least not legally.

"While various industry executives, notably Michael Dell, have stated publicly that they would like to sell Macintosh-compatible computers, Apple VP Phil Schiller said the company does not plan to let people run Mac OS X on other computer makers' hardware. »We will not allow running Mac OS X on anything other than an Apple Mac,« he said." - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macintosh_clone

Fair enough. You do violate the Mac OS X EULA. My point was just that it can be done.

Also, I like your clarification, since they are both PCs but with different chips, operating systems, etc.

Yes, I tend to use the Apple nomenclature (Mac, PC), even though it's bull****. Since both are based on the Intel architecture, there's not much difference.

Most of them have notes for programming stuff I am/was working on, so yeah, pretty useful :P I used to write that sort of stuff down on a notepad (IRL), but ever since I've started using 2 monitors that's become less useful. And stuff just looks so much prettier in Vim than in real life :P
