Let us address bomb camping
Nothing busts my balls like three or four noobs camping the bomb. I say turn the bomb spawn location into an anti blank until the bomb actually spawns. Or make it a timed pickup, sort of like diffusing, where players of a higher level can snag it quicker. IE: A level 10 and a level 60 are trying to grab the bomb at the same time, the level 10 would have to ride it for 3 seconds whereas perhaps the level 60 could snag it instantly? These are obviously rough ideas but I think this needs some thought.

It's kinda pathetic but you only really see lvl 1-20s do it, after that they either quit or learn. The only 60 I've seen camping the bomb is RAMATHORNE and he just gets kicked. So IMO this isnt worth wasting time/resources on :]

making it an anti-blank would be hilarious :E But yeah, there's no way to "fix" bad players.... they'll just camp farther away :P

Big idea: slow-moreplays of the final bombdrop, with a 1/100 random chance of a little man riding the bomb in the replay. |

Only noobs bomb camp, just set a restriction to official server #1:
lvl > 40 |

If you make it so noobs play together, then sure enough they won't learn this social norm, and >40 noobs will join the >40 servers and bomb-camp, because they haven't learnt not to be noobs. Unless, of course, you learn not to bomb camp by gaining EXP because in real life it UPGRADES YOUR BRAIN. |

I think the reason why newbs camp the bomb is because they cant kill anyone, since they dont know how to play yet.
Bombing the base (by mere chance and insistence) makes them feel useful. Also, telling them not to camp never works, you have to kick them usually. |

I remember trying to explain that the bars make your plane go faster and the bomb do more damage so you should kill some people first to make bombing easier and more efficient.
I think they caught on to the trick when they realized that they couldn't kill anyone. Last edited by Ferret; 07-06-2009 at 04:47 AM. Reason: wrong post |

with triple gold, how much damage does a full hit do?

It's 38 experience instead of 30 with 3 gold and ace. If I extrapolate correctly, 30 exp is the same as 1500 damage, so 1900 damage for 3 gold with ace? About a 26% increase in total bomb damage if I'm right.
Of course lam probably posted the number somewhere and I'm too lazy to find it. EDIT: Lam's post on it http://altitudegame.com/forums/showp...83&postcount=3 says 27% damage with ace. Last edited by Ferret; 07-06-2009 at 04:47 AM. |

No Bars - 30 xp worth of damage
3 Gold Bars - 35 xp worth of damage 3 Gold Bars w/ ace instincts - 38 xp worth of damage I don't know how much damage that actually translates to in terms of total hit points, but it doesn't really matter anymore since you can't damage a base with regular weapons. Just remember the base has 100 xp worth of damage it can take. So if you drop 3 regular bombs on it you still have 10 xp worth of damage left to go. You can see how with ace instincts you can end a game with just 3 bomb hits. |

There are no partial hits nor partial blocks in the game, at all, ever, anywhere, anytime, anyhow, and Zidane doesn't play.

Now now now, chaps.
When you are making love - sorry, flying a plane - you have to change the tempo. Sometimes slow and sweet. Sometimes fast and furious. Sometimes I'm waving around, pulling up and down, and about to unload my bomb. Right now things are still slow and sweet but, look!, the climax of my mission is coming, so it's time to get speedy. At this point the other team generally fires a guided missile at me, piercing my plane's delicate... [post censored for reasons of humanity] |

I saw one bomb camper, the guy was so dedicated that even after he got the bomb he kept circling for like 20 seconds.

Bomb Camping Noob (holding down the right arrow on his keyboard): Yes, Mom, I'll clean my room. Stop hounding me.
On the screen: [Team] FFS do something with the bomb! Noob (still looking away from the screen): I promise, Mom, let me just win this game! I'm really good! On the screen: [Team] Defend! Noob: DON'T TREAT ME LIKE THAT I'M ALMOST TWELVE!!! On the screen: Someone kick this bomb camper Noob: AWWW YOU MADE EVERYONE HATE ME MOM. IT'S JUST LIKE HOW YOU STOPPED DAD FROM COMING ROUND ANYMORE. On the screen: Noobsicle has logged out |

A lot of them wait for a 2nd bomb before going :P

actually, that's a perfectly valid / smart strategy.
most infuriating part to me tho is when they wait for the 2nd bomb and then take the SAME ROUTE as the other bomber. alkfjsaldjfja |
