Dungeons of Dredmor and other Rogue-Likes
Recently Dungeons of Dredmor was released on Steam, a rogue-like with some pretty quality graphics and some awesome hilarity to it. I mean seriously, the game has moustache golems, traffic cones for head armor, a god of lutefisk, squid arrows and the monsters say awesome insults at you as they charge towards their (or your) doom. For $5 it's a pretty sweet buy.
It got my interest in rogue-likes sparked up again and I thought I'd ask who else plays them and what their favorites are. Post links if you could. For a long time I was hooked on Doom: The Roguelike. Regardless of the traditional ASCII graphics, it's so damn addictive and very true to the Doom franchise. Another good one from the same guy is AliensRL. Slightly more tactical than the last one but also true to the franchise it uses. I tend to be more into the fast-action style. Okay, who else has a few? |
