Linux version refuses to work
When I try to run the linux version, I get an error about my drivers not being up to date.
The funny thing is when I use the web launcher to run the game, it works like charm. [It does indeed work just fine on Windows as well, both Steam and Non-Steam]. When I click the `Update drivers` button, I get this; Operating System Linux System Manufacturer Unknown System Model Number Unknown http://altitudegame.com/drivers?vcma...wn&smn=Unknown There is no need to mention the fact my video drivers are indeed up to date. Nvidia Drivers; 275.21. I'm running Archlinux 64bit. I know it was requested that I provide a full system info, but I would rather avoid that. Knowing that the problem doesn't lie in my hardware, but in the mechanizem that recognize it. P.S. The web client doesn't support my Gamepad for some reason. It does recognize it but doesn't let me map the keys. P.S.S. A 64bit version would be nice, would prevent me the need of using extra lib32's. |

The web version is the exact same thing as the standalone version except it uses whatever JVM you have installed instead of bundling one. I'm guessing the bundled 32-bit JVM that is included in altitude.sh just doesn't play nice w/ your 64-bit OS.
In the standalone version you can do the following: In the Altitude installation directory there is a .install4j directory. In this directory create a file named pref_jre.cfg if it doesn't already exist. Open the file in a text editor Add the complete path to the root directory for the Java installation you want to use. Example: /usr/local/java6 |

Change the config above as I mentioned to point to a 64-bit JVM and then you will run in 64-bit mode.

While the pref_jre.cfg seems to be ignored [Tried to write random stuff as well, didn't seem to try to load java from there].
Renaming the jre folder to anything else seem to have solved it. Thank you. -- Gamepad issue seems to presist. |
