Sorry for nub question, but how do you play mafia?

I read through the Mafia rules, but I still don't completely understand. If someone would clarify I would greatly appreciate it.

Uninformed majority (the village) vs the informed minority (the mafia). Each player is PMed a "Role PM," which tells them what team they are with and their role (and if they are mafia, who their teammates are). During the "night phase," the informed minority choose who they want to kill. Any other special roles also take place at night. During the day, people vote who they think the mafia are, and after a person gets a majority of the votes, they are "lynched" and die. Play continues until one team has eliminated all of the other team or nothing can prevent the same.

Pretty much sums it up.
