Strange flicker

Hello,

When I started playing on my new laptop, I encountered quite a strange problem. Whilst playing screen flickers and for one second I can see my desktop, but it momentarily changes back to game as if nothing happened. This goes on about 3 times in half an hour.

I wonder, what can cause this type of problem. Video drivers? Background programs? What should I do first?

It could be drivers or a background application. I'd lean towards suspecting any background application that pops up notifications (perhaps it correlates with "new email" notices, chat program alerts, torrent "download complete" messages, etc).

Well, it seems problem do not occur when I am playing in windowed mode. This would be fine, but due to already small screen losing couple of precious pixels to windows top bar, simply sucks.

And background programs which are turned on, do not pops any notifications, screen just flickers for half of a second. It does not occur very often, but is annoying nonetheless.
