Balancer Takes Into Account Plane Playtime?
Would it be possible for the balancer to balance teams with rating and which plane a player plays the most? There have been a few times when I have been on teams that have had 6 good lights but no whales.
I know you could use the argument that the players should practice all planes but there are a few players that don't. I don't know if it would work but, on the ladder website, it does keep track of how many games you play with each plane. It's just something I've been thinking of. |

Would be very difficult to define what a 'well balanced' team is and if it's balanced on current planes, it's very easy for people to switch to their worst plane then swap back.
I know you mentioned this, but generally people who play multiple planes will succeed more and therefore will have a higher rating. |

Sounds like OP is suggesting to only consider planes that have at least 1/3 of total play time for the player, picking their top two planes. Over 15% of total play time could grab all planes if they spread their play out well.
Alas, if the top two planes are selected, the server can't know which plane the user wants to play. When you first walk onto a server, it allows you to select a plane without spawning. Perhaps it could use this selection for which plane the user wants to play in the next game. I imagine many people who first join will end up still on the first loadout. I would suggest thinking of that first loopy loadout as being "unselected/undeclared" for such a balancer. Interesting idea. I don't like that it further concretes a single plane mentality. |

I already suggested this idea before teh start of Season 2. And the answer then was "No".
I don't think this will ever be taken into account. Ladder isn't just about how good you are at a plane, it's about how good you are at adapting to the team you're given and trying to win with what you got, and you're rated based on this. |

ladder is about being good enough to solo.

IMO the player who has the highest kills per minute should top ladder.

I don't think this would work very well, for the reason that players who are flexible with planes tend to be ranked higher currently. It seems that balancing teams that way would allow one-plane-players to continue to just play one plane, and reduce the advantage to multi-plane-players |
