Being miss world isn't just about being pretty, one is expected to flaunt their gills in a swimsuit competition, rally for world peace, as well as display intelligence equal to that of a garden gnome.

Being beautiful is tough.

I completely agree with her being selected as the winner. If you don't agree, you're a Hitler-esque dumbo poopy face. BTW, your mother was a hamster and your father smells of elderberries.

Now that is quality moderating. Instead of being super quick to hit the infraction or warning hammer with no explanation, you instead gave a respectful, polite nudge to me to get back on topic. I nod my head respectfully in you direction, sir.

Back on topic though, I think beauty pageants are terrible things that destroy the confidence of the not-so-beautiful and only butter the egos of the beautiful, further reinforcing what they already know. Just my opinion though.

I think the whole concept of a beauty pageant is just absurd. Why make such a huge competition of out such a subjective thing? "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" as they say.

I think this thread misses the more important point - how can we crown someone Miss Universe when the only contestants are people from Earth? Isn't that a bit presumptuous? I wouldn't be surprised if there's a few alien invasions over this.

i think it's a bit presumptuous to assume that other sentient life in the universe would consider a beauty pageant on earth to be offensive enough to invade over. for all we know, we could be the most insignificant among civilizations throughout the universe and our miss universe contest could be akin to a prettiest woman in the world contest in the baraka village in kenya. who are you to say we're important, dick?
