screen off center
So I bought a new laptop last friday and when I first started playing the game on it everything was fine but like 2 days ago I opened altitude and the screen was off center. Any ideas? The screen is centered on my desktop.

Could be one of a few things:
1) Fullscreen in too-high resolution (to test, F1 to open console, resolution "800 x 600") 2) Windowed in too-high resolution (to test, F1 to open console, resolution "800 x 600") 3) Bad video drivers (update) 4) Windows DPI settings (try toggling fullscreen by pressing F3) |

Is there anything else I can do or am I forced to quit the game? The screenshot doesn't show whats happening very well I have a black bar to the left of my screen where the game should be to be aligned.

If Altitude was working initially and then stopped working it must be related to a change on the system. Did you install any other software? Did you update drivers? Try rebooting your computer.
It's not clear to me what exactly is going wrong. Changing the resolution has no effect whatsoever on what you see? Toggling fullscreen has no effect? Screenshots of your desktop might be helpful. |

The most likely explanation here is that Windows installed buggy display/video drivers in an automatic update.
What kind of video card do you have? If you have an nvidia or ATI card you need to download new drivers directly from ati.com or nvidia.com. Otherwise you could use a "System Restore", then manually run Windows Update and "hide" the display driver update (preventing it from reinstalling). Or you could open Windows Update, click "Installed Updates", find the recent display driver update and uninstall it (you should probably hide it afterwards to prevent reinstalling). |

Hmm - maybe try an older driver?

so i installed an older driver nothing changed with my fullscreen but at 600X800 windowed mode works but if i go any higher on resolution it messes up again

Windowed and fullscreen mode keep track of separate resolutions, so you need to invoke the command in each mode:
F3 (to enter fullscreen mode) F1 (to open console) resolution "800 x 600" (to change fullscreen res) Does that work? Otherwise you'll need to run with F1 (to open console) testWindowedFullscreen true (to enter "windowed fullscreen") resolution -- test all available values until you find the highest one that works (ideally matching your desktop resolution) |

even going to the next resolution up brings it out of alignment and if i go even higher it messes it up to a point where i cant even read it anymore.

Are you launching the game from Steam? If so try disabling the Steam overlay UI.
You may completely disable Game Overlay by going to Steam’s Steam > Settings menu and selecting the In-Game tab. Then uncheck the Enable Steam Community In-Game checkbox. |

Figured it out and its my fault I went to display in my control panel and changed the size of everything on my screen from 100% to 150% and it just dawned on my that I did that. Sorry for taking up your time.
