Travian-Strategy

Although I play Altitude, which is all action I guess, I have a deep love for Strategy. Outsmarting others, and or surprising them in a battle is where I get my kicks.

Anyway, I used to play this game a LONG LONG Time back, and I am looking forward to playing again, hopefully with a few enthusiasts. This game is a Strategy RTS Online Browser Game. There are 3 Tribes:

Romans: Both Offensive/Defensive. (Early game, they are raided, and or can be raiding)
Teutons: Offensive (Early game, they raid like crazy and almost always rely on raiding.)
Gauls: Defensive (Early game, players are usually scared of them as they pose a huge threat as to the likes of their defence)

I know a lot of people like to be Offensive, and more aggressive in Tactical Games like this. However, Gauls/Romans can develop stronger units than Teutons. I myself will be going Roman although I am almost Teuton.

Unlike other Browser Games, this game ACTUALLY has an ending of the server, where a World Wonder must be built.
ALLIANCES, also take a large role in this game and is necessary to win as it is the ALLIANCE That usually wins collectively.

Anyway, those who understand Strategy and can learn and experience quickly, send me a PM as I plan to form a pre-planned team/Alliance.
I'll edit this post when the latest server is coming out.

But urm, if anyone really is into Strategy Games, nonetheless, SimCity games/War games, this game suits all types.
Building/Troops etc all take a part in this game and it is completely free with some perks when buying gold which can also be EASILY earned.

Also those who will play along with me, hopefully you will be experienced in RTS games, or you can double up on one account which is allowed. I intend, to form the Alliance hopefully with roughly 5+ People to start with as well as being close together to make sure we can survive.
When the server comes up, I'll give some instructions on how to get close together and how to register!

i playied last time travian 1 year ago, on 3x italian server. i reached 10 000 pop without golds, i was so pro..... but an alliance started attacking me and conquered all my villages... 20 000 pretorians weren't enough lol

Played this for a while a very long time ago. Travian is really something worth trying if it fits your desires. However, I like to win, and in order to win in this game you need to sacrifice too much time while it returns too little for me. I suppose nowadays this game is playable on your phone which should sort of mitigate this but often doing that would be a very dull activity. When I play a game, I'll stick to Alti/SC2.

I'm sure this would be fun though if you'd play this with friends. However, I don't have the type of friends who like this stuff

PS: You don't need RTS experience.

I'm experienced at the game and have played a game where I had 15+ settlements. I'll share an account with you if you like as I don't nor want to play it full time.

Imo para you should make a list of people interested so we can see how many accounts we will have..
So like: para, andy/kuja, eto'o, etc..

I could be interested. What's the time commitment we're talking about?

Like continuous gameplay that you need to keep up throughout the day or is it just checking in for like 10-15 minutes every few hours.

If we can get 20+ players we can EASILY get going well. Since we have something the others don't which is communico. It depends on who wants to play with who.

Dualing is allowed, and I'd prefer that on my account with whoever, as long as they know what they do.
Also depending on the type of play you want out of it, if you want to spend less time, go defensive.
If you have the time, go offensive.
If you don't know what to do go both. With this we will have a collective defensive/offensive force which we can dominate with.
I'll start posting names of the people who are interested.

I really want to do this, and I'll find the latest .com/.uk server and the time it comes out. With some preplan and occasionally, working together we can dominate a regional area with ease.

As an experienced player, I'd suggest alot of you go Gaul/Roman unless you have time!

The server will be s6.co.uk It has not started yet, and will start when the next server ends. I'll psot the information when the server is going to go.

Also for all of you, I'd suggest americans teaming up with euro's
This means more hours are spent on the account overall instead of two players overlapping a lot.

Personally, the teutons early game, are the best to go if you have time to kill and if your an experienced raider.
Romans get farmed/raided early game unless they build troops.
Romans are the hardest tribe as they mix between both offensive/defensive. Romans are usually the beginners tribe however I'd not suggest this
Gauls are the defenders of teutons and gauls sim city. They can defend widely and later mid game their horses are the fastest throughout the game.

Special Buildings

Teutons have the brewery which makes their troops somewhat stronger however means they can't aim with fire catapult which destroys buildings
Romans have the water trough which lessens wheat consumption for houses
Gauls have the trapper which traps enemy troops.

Wow those guys must be pro to win for the first time!
Things like that are the most fun, when teamwork is excelled in.

The feeling when we designate our co-ordinated defence to someone who is being attacked only to see the enemy lose all his troops will make us feel GOOD! Closest to Ecstacy imo.

The win is not the most important thing,
Personally when I played ages back, I got my kicks from espionage.
I pretended I was in a certain alliance, and I got into their skype chat, found out their troop counts and where the troops were etc, and pretty much me and one other guy totaled this alliance which was #7 in the ranking system.

Being part of the win, is essential yes but not completely the goal. Really having fun and doing something that impacts the communico on the server really is the goal

Obviously my main priority is to win, but I intend to take risks and do some crazy things along the way.
