TBD_StarStorm

This is my second attempt at making a map, my first being tbd_siege, more than a year ago. Please playtest this on the map test server and give me your comments. Thanks

  • World wrap is enabled, making the bases very close to each other.
  • There is no floor or ceiling causing instant death when these are touched. Is this intended?
  • Its not intuitive of where walls begin and what is flyable safe. Many maps use a single color 3 to 5 pixel thick outer wall to designate which walls hurt.
  • It feels small for a tbd, but I haven't got to play with players yet. (Even if world wrap isn't considered.)
It looks awesome. Your strongest area is my weakest. Side note as well, the map was uploaded to the test server, but wasn't loaded to the maplist of the server yet. It is there now via /vote loadmap [mapname]

    Because of the semi photorealistic style I made this is, Im not sure if the “danger colour” idea is good, but Ill test it and see what I think.

    Same size as tbd_cave.

Cave has a lot of obstacles in the middle, I would make your map very slightly larger.

This is a beautiful map. Awesome work on the graphics! Of course the world wrap should be disabled, and I agree that the map should be widened a bit, unless you decide to add obstacles in the middle. I was able to run nearly a straight line from one base to another without even encountering any obstacles worth maneuvering around. This makes it too easy.

Otherwise, I'm astounded by the work that must have gone into this. Great job!

I did this in maybe an hour and a half when I was bored. :P

Do you use photoshop?

By the way, I fixed worldwrap and top/bottom instakill :P
