Default Missile Docks

MISSILE DOCKS

Concept:
Hello! I'd like to introduce the missile dock, a uniquely designed structure of geoms that allowed stationary, 'docked' planes to repeatedly fire missiles at targets.



This is a close-up picture of the first version of the missile dock. You can see the obvious outline of an explodet in the black outline. Fit an explodet in the 'missile docks' using reverse thrust to repeatedly fire missiles at targets.

Let's discuss the steps needed to utilize a missile dock.

Steps:
  1. Pick an explodet. The red perk doesn't matter, but reverse is recommended and repair is useful as well. I picked explodet to fit into the missile dock because it is the biggest shape and I also used a spawn point to model the geom around, which is an explodet.
  2. Position yourself in front of the dock but somewhat inline with the teal ramp.
  3. Turn on reverse and push yourself against the teal geom. Tilt up to wiggle into the black shape.
  4. If positioned correctly, your explodet's rocket bay should hang down into the powerup spawner.
  5. Try repeatedly firing missiles at the editor bots.

Here's a picture of me in the correct position, using the right-facing dock.



Playable Map:
So you can play in a missile dock, I created a map (built as an FFA) with two missile docks, facing different directions. Any questions and comments are welcome.

P.S. - The background is actually the default sky blue. I'm not sure why it turned out black in the screen cap.

Further Discussion: TBD Potential
The missile dock is mainly a toy and a concept. However, think the missile dock could make an entrance in new TBD maps. Consider a map in which both teams have a missile dock used for defense. I could tone down the respawn time on the missiles to make it more fair. I think missile docks could add a new element and feature to TBD games. A TBD map utilizing missile docks will most likely be in order.

I think this has much more use in Coop than anything else, nice idea though.

Interesting, but definitely the respawn time of the missile would have to be reduced, instead of having an instantaneous spawn-rate. Otherwise it'd be spam heaven.
